Synagogue tries to blackmail Mel Gibson

A Southern California Synagogue has sent a letter to controversial film-maker Mel Gibson – asking him for $1.6 million donation, suggesting it will white-wash his sins against Jews.

The president of Congregation Beth Shalom in Corona had appealed to Mel Gibson for help to prevent the synagogue from losing its building.

“Our proposal to you, Mr. Gibson, is since you have been cited as an Anti-Semitic, and have denied those allegations, what better way to prove to all your fans and the nay Sayers — than to endorse and help raise funds for our cause – SOS, Save Our Synagogue,” the letter from the synagogue’s president said.

Abraham Foxman, national director of Israel lobbying group, the Anti-Defamation League, who had blasted Mel Gibson in 2004 for his film, ‘The Passion of the Christ’ – has criticized Mel for his latest movie Judah Maccabee.

“Judah Maccabee deserves better. He is a hero of the Jewish people and a universal hero in the struggle for religious liberty. It would be a travesty to have his story told by one who has no respect and sensitivity for other people’s religious views,” said Abe Foxman.

Rabbi Marvin Hier, agrees with Abe Foxman, by saying: “Mel Gibson has shown nothing but antagonism and disrespect to Jews.”

While Christians believe that Judah Maccabee betrayed Jesus – Judah Maccabee is regarded as Jewish hero and is the key inspiration for the annual Hanukkah celebration.

What irks the Zionist lobby the most about Mel Gibson – he refuses to come on Barbra Walters or Oprah special and like Jimmy Carter beg forgiveness from the Jews. Mel seems to be very adamant, saying that he did not say something wrong about the Jews.
