Congress told: U.S. life ‘unsustainable’ after EMP

by F. Michael Maloof

I read this book over a year ago it was in novel format, so it was interesting to read, was by William Forstchen called One Second After.

It is food for thought what happens to us should the Power Grid go down? My friend depends literally on electricity. So what would you do? How are people like my friend to survive if you don't have money for a generator. How will we react over not having internet. We're very dependent upon electricity. I don't know how I would react, I probably would not be a happy camper to say the least. Scary perspective.

But I still thinkk there would be survivors, how many I don't know.

WASHINGTON – Congress today was told that the Department of Homeland Security hasn’t identified an electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, event as a serious national security threat to the nation’s grid system even though testimony revealed it could making living in the United States “unsustainable” for 70 to 90 percent of the population

I think the majority of the population would survive. Yes, there are those whose very lives depend upon electricity for their survival, but I highly doubt the rest of us would just cease to be able to survive. Sure, it will most likely be widespread panic to begin with, but that will settle and life will go on. People survived prior to all this technology and we can surely survive again.

Sure would throw alot of people for aloop. But yes, I think after we got over the initial shock, maybe we'd recconnect with the pioneer spirit again.
