Earth-like planet may arise in a nearby star

Turbulent binary star systems, such as Alpha Centauri, Earth-like planets can be maintained.
Scientists claims based on new computer models. Alpha Centauri is only four light years away from Earth and is the nearest star after the Sun.
Scientists tried with the new computer models to examine protoplanetary disks that survive in a star system with these two stars. Inter protoplanetary disks planets can be born. The answer is yes. However there are conditions where the stars have to comply in relation to the density of the gas and the orientation of the stars. What is clear: one of the two stars in the Alpha Centauri system meets the requirements. And this star is 4.2 light years away from Earth.
"It is possible that an Earth-like planet around Alpha Centauri B is running in a region where life is possible," said researcher Jian Ge of the University of Florida in Gainesville.
