The Shaded Moon: Partial Solar Eclipse The world's largest collection of optical telescopes is located high above the Sonoran Desert under some of the finest night skies in the world at the Kitt Peak National Observatory Visitor Center. Amateur photographers, some with no technical experience, are able take extremely high-quality CCD images using the telescopes and instruments at the center. Featured in this gallery are some of the very best images of the universe, which have been produced at Kitt Peak.
