Faith is believing. Religion tells you what to believe and how to believe it and defines the rituals to go about proving that you believe it. Faith doesn't need any of that. Faith simply is.
Was the 14 year old acting irresponsibly, or was it just the fact that the sitter was 14? How old does the UK want kids to be before they are allowed to babysit? I know of responsible 12 and 13 year olds who babysit for unrelated kids here in the US, and even younger ones who care for siblings.
With the amount of jet fuel in there and temperatures hot enough to melt steel, human flesh didn't stand a chance. It's not surprising that people would have been burned instantly.
We have city police and county sheriffs. The county sheriff is elected, but the police chief is hired. The sheriff's officers are quite well behaved, while the city police will turn on their sirens just long enough to get through a red light or to pass a line of slow traffic. It really ticks...
Population tends to control itself, especially in third world countries where the kids without enough food and water don't survive to reproduce. Any given area can only sustain a certain population density, and once that density is reached (or exceeded) nature will take care of the extras.
There was a near miss not long ago. Didn't they try diverting that one? Pardon my ignorance about such recent history, but all I remember was that they were worried about it and then it didn't hit us.
The response is harsh, but the reporter did know (or should have known) what type of environment she was walking into. If you pull the lid off of a beehive you run the risk of getting stung.

1. Washington, DC.
2. New York, NY
3. Los Angelos, CA
4. Chicago, IL
5. Dallas, TX
We have first aid kits in the car, food in the freezer, and firewood in the shed. Anything on a larger scale than that will be more than I could prepare for myself anyway.
Government needs us to be in a state of crisis so we are dependent upon them. If we could get along without them, we wouldn't need them. So, they create any sort of crisis so we will do whatever they ask. The more they want to ask for, the bigger their crisis needs to be.
I think something will happen sometime, and 2012 would be just as likely as any other year. It's already been 10 years since 9/11, and it's incredible that nothing major has happened in that 10 years. When something does happen, if it is during 2012, then everyone will say "Told you so!"
It is so much harder for me in a crowd, because not only is there more negative energy, but it is hard to figure out where the negative energy is coming from. When I protect myself from the negative energy, I also shield whatever positive energy is working in my favor. It's a tough balance to...
