If this gas is ignited the explosion would roughly be one and one half times larger than the biggest nuclear device in U.S. service. This is not taking into consideration the oil and gas pipelines in the area, all about 50 miles from Baton Rouge.
The massive butane pocket is several hundred feet from the sinkhole, if it breaches a lightning strike or other spark would produce unimaginable results throwing radioactive particles for large distances.
