Calgary police say a domestic dispute led to the deaths of two children in the city's northwest Saturday night.
Police said they got a 911 call from a home in the neighbourhood of Panorama Hills around 9 p.m. MT Friday. Officers found the body of a 13-year-old boy inside the house, then discovered a man and woman fighting and quickly intervened.
Calgary Police Chief Rick Hanson said he has no doubt the two experienced officers prevented a third homicide.
The body of a nine-year-old girl was discovered after a search.
The mother of the two children was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Their father was taken into custody.
Police have not said how the children died.
