CANBERRA - Paleontologists have discovered a new dinosaur species on a sheep farm in Australia. The fossil, which the scientists nicknamed Zac has been, probably lived 97 million years ago. This writes the BBC Thursday.
Zac belongs to the Sauropoda, a dinosaur species known by the Brachiosaurus and Diplodocus. These species eat plants, running on four legs and has a long neck and tail.
The sheep farm was already an important reference for paleontologists. In 2004 there was the largest dinosaur ever unearthed.
This 30 meter long fossil is loving Cooper said. The researchers expect in the future even more special finds in the area to take.
