Message from Laurie LeBlanc, Assistant Deputy Minister
Employment and Training Division
Thank you for your interest in the Ontario Self Employment Benefit (OSEB) program.
OSEB is just one of the Ontario government’s suite of employment and training
programs geared to help Ontarians struggling with the global economic recession.
This year Employment Ontario has seen unprecedented numbers of clients applying for
all of its programs. Due to extreme levels of demand, we are unfortunately no longer
able to accept new applications to OSEB at this time. However, we must ensure that we
meet our current commitments to clients already enrolled in the program.
Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to halt acceptance of new OSEB
applications, effective October 9, 2009.
I encourage you to contact your assessment centre counsellor to discuss other options
available to you through Employment Ontario’s network of service providers.
Sincerely,
Laurie LeBlanc
Assistant Deputy Minister
