I think I would go back and avoid having a case of Pepsi smash my foot. I'd probably also avoid having my grand-dog, the 160 pound English Mastiff step on that same foot right after it healed from the Pepsi incident. LOL!

Re: What's going on right now

I'm sure I could come up with LOTS of things that I (at one point) would say that I would avoid doing again if I could go back, but then, I wouldn't be where I am today. I wouldn't be WHO I am today. Even those little things that seem like they are meaningless, have more meaning than we think. Whenever I think about 'if I could go back and do it all over again', I think, "NO". Although things aren't going the greatest, and sometimes, things are downright stressful and I wonder if we'll have enough to eat and pay the bills, I know it's not that bad, and things could always be worse.

I have a roof over my head, and I have people in my life that care about me. Financially, sure, things are not good, and jobs are scarce, but in the grand scheme of things, there are so much bigger things at work that get surpassed when focusing on what could've been or what we wish was different.

We all get the (pardon my language) shit end of the stick at one time or another, but it's up to us what we do with the stick.

I know, it's fun to talk about it, and it's a GREAT way to vent and I'm all for that! If I sound like I'm preaching, sorry, I don't mean to. I'm just stating how I feel.

You guys go on, VENT, VENT VENT!!!!!! Please, it's healthy!!!! I encourage it!!! Heck, I've got my own thread dedicated to my venting and ranting, lol! I tried to set the example for what people can do here.

Heck, if I could go back (I know I can, but I won't), I would re-write this so it didn't sound so 'holier than thou", lol. Anyway, this is how I feel, and I've been over it over and over and over, and it's always the same events that replay that I wish I did something different, but those things (at least for me) i know must be what they were, I've come to terms with that, but I still think about them.

Again, positives from the negatives, and that's what I think it's more about than anything else. If all those events in each of our lives didn't happen just the way they did (even the foot thing Cat ), then we wouldn't all have met here to talk about it.

You don't sound holier than thou, just counting your blessings. I'm trying to look at it could always be worse.

We just found out our cab driver is going to take CDL classes (to be a truck driver) so early in Dec. he won't be with the cab company. too bad my friend liked him he was very good natured, and didn't complain like the wheel chair taxi drivers did when they had to wheel her out of here. (She walks but still hasn't got the confidence to use the walker out of here, she was using it the night she fell, slick ceramic tiles on this floor)., but I guess there has to be a reason, right now we're worried about getting her to the dr's again. yet it could be worse

True at least we have a place to go to vent about it and try to figure out what's going on behind our backs in the grand manipulations of our respective governments.

Sorry about your foot, but look at all the love you get from your dog. Big dogs usually think they're lap dogs. Does your dog think like that?

LOL and the little dogs think they're the big dog. One guy in our neighborhood walks his Schnauzer, which isn't a tiny dog but not a big either, and he's across the street when he says hello, his dog barks at me like there's no tomorrow. I know the animal is overly protective of his owner, most dogs like me. The poor guy must have trouble making friends if his dog is around. I've had most of my experience with cats, but I like dogs too. But here's something I just found about the love of a dog!

We used to have two dogs. They died of honorable old age. They were afraid of the cats. I had my daughter's chinchillas for a while. The cats were afraid of them.

Re: What's going on right now

It's always sad when losing a beloved pet, because they become such a big part of your family. At least they lived a long happy life. It's strange the things animals become afraid of isn't it? I had one cat that was afraid of an old hairbrush I used to brush the fur off the sofa. Used to creep up on it and swat at it like it was alive. LOL.

The pet I miss the most was an orange cat remember Morris the cat with 9 lives, he looked just like Morris. He lived the longest. He came to my grandmother and i when he was rather older maybe 7 or 8. Smart cat one year they were warning us, we had an Alberta clipper moving in and they told us not to let our pets out in the extreme cold, well he wanted to go to the bathroom (he was a true outdoor cat) but this time he wound up making an exception, he balanced himself on the toilet and went. I sure never taught him that! It's strange the things animals can be afraid of though isn't it?

When Tiki was still with us, she used to watch hockey games and try to catch the puck. Smokey always had a fascination for watching the toilet flush. Cats are strange critters.

Re: What's going on right now

Agree cats are strange, they can chase nothing, and look like they have fun with it. But the older cat i had was a lap cat he used to jump
in either me or my grandmother's lap and curl into and purr away.

my friend likes kittens but not cats go figure, (she's says its because cats like to leep on things) anyway she's more of a dog person. She had a funny springer spaniel she said, if she went to bed first the dog would be in the bedroom and growl at her husband when he tried to enter the room, if she said it was o.k. (which after 46 years of marriage I'm sure she did) the dog would let him enter. After that it would be o.k. to come and go as he pleased. Funny animals. Miss not having either species around now.
