The French Health Minister, Roselyne Bachelot, has indicated today, Thursday, that so far only 50,000 people have taken the swine flu jab in France since the launch of the mass vaccination campaign.

There are an estimated 65 million people living in France.

50,000 people is less than 0.1 per cent of the total population.

In a report by AFP, she admitted that the vaccination campaign had been “timid”.

However she was pleased that “50,000″ people have been vaccinated in hospitals.

She said that at the 10 % of the health personnel in those hospitals in Paris which belong to the public health system had been received the swine flu jab.

Bachelot said that six million people in France would be summoned for their swine flu vaccinations at vaccine centers when the campaign moves from health personnel to the general public on November 12th, with pregnant women, children and the sick as the first targets.
