I was wondering the meaning the this nursery rhyme:
Hey diddle diddle,
The Cat and the fiddle,
The Cow jumped over the moon,
The little Dog laughed to see such sport,
And the Dish ran away with the Spoon.

Here is what I found, please feel free add anything to this thread. Basically they are all constellation:
Hey diddle diddle,
Diddle means:
1 to move with short rapid motions
2 to waste (as time) in trifling
3 hoax, swindle
4 often vulgar : to copulate with

The Cat and the fiddle,
The constellation of Felis is the cat (Its name is Latin for cat) or it could also be leo.
The constellation of Lyra is the fiddle Lyra represents the lyre, an ancient Greek stringed musical instrument.

The Cow jumped over the moon,
The constellation of Taurus is the bull or cow that moved over the moon.

The little Dog laughed to see such sport,
The constellation of Canis Minor is the dog(Its name is Latin for "smaller dog").

And the Dish ran away with the Spoon.
the constellation of Ursa Major(big dipper) and Ursa Minor(little dipper) are the dish and spoon.

Wow really cool, I never thought it was about the constellations in the sky. Thanks for the information. Obviously it was to teach children about the constellations but we lost the constellation part.
