AMSTERDAM - The region of New York City was probably flooded 2300 years ago by a tsunami. This is evident from soil found by American scientists.

Researchers at Vanderbilt University found more than twenty locations in New York and nearby New Jersey that had marine fossils, shells and other unusual deposits from the sea found in soil layers of approximately 2300 years old.
