However, what Obama did not say during the White House press conference that his administration had suffered a major military and diplomatic humiliation by Iraqi government’s rejection of Washington’s plea to maintain some of its 12 military bases in Iraq beyond 2011.
The Republican and Tea Party leaders have blasted Obama’s decision as a victory for Iran. Dennis McDonough, the White House deputy national security adviser, tried to calm down the pro-Israel warmongers by assuring them the American withrawal is not a sign of growing Iranian influence in the region. “You see an Iran that is weaker and more isolated,” he said and supported his lie by mentioning the alleged Iranian plot to kill Saudi ambassador in Washington.
Israeli poodles like General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; Leon Panetta, Secretary of Defense, Gen. David Petraeus, head of CIA and Admiral Mike Mullen – all have campaigned for keeping 5,000-10,000 US soldiers and some military bases in Iraq to protect Israel from Iranian threat.
Interestingly, Michael Scheuer, former CIA operative and chief of Bin Laden Unit - said in Fox News interview that the only people that would benefit from the plot are Israelis and Saudis. “Both Israel and Saudi Arabia are much more dangerous enemies to the US than the Iranian are,” he said. He also added that “the Congress is crazy for war with Iran“, and that some US Senators like Joe Lieberman (a radical Zionist Jew), John MaCain (a Islamophobe Zionist Christian) and Lindsey Graham (a Zionist Christian) “are owned by the Israelis“.
