The Norway mass killer, Anders Behring Breivik, had mentioned in his 1500-page bible two prominent American pro-Israel ‘Islamophobes’ – Pamela Geller of ‘Atlas Shrugs’ and Robert Spencer of ‘Jihad Watch’ – who inspired him hating Muslims.
“The idea that most meat sold in your supermarket or grocery store is halal is an outrage. Much of it isn’t labeled halal, though it was slaughtered and the Islamic ritual prayer was made over the meat. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to eat halal. Not a bite — and yet this is being shoved down the throats of americans without their knowledge,” she posted on her website on November 21, 2011.
Pamela has appealed to her fellow Judeo-Christians to boycott Butterball’s “stealth halal turkeys” and write to the company to register their disapproval.
Adam Serwer at Mother Jones wrote that Butterball is selling Halal meat because it’s a good business as is the Kosher meat.
Pamela also called Islamic way slaughtering which is not much different than the Jewish ritual slaughtering – as barbaric. In fact, Netherlands is the only western country where both Jewish and Muslim ritual slaughtering are banned.
Interestingly, unlike the ‘Kosher Tax’, there is no official ‘Halal Tax’ in America. According to Ziocon the Wall Street Journal, Kosher market is worth $12.5 billion per year.
For the Muslim-bashers and bigots – there are hardly a few thousands Muslims among over 35 million Muslims in the West who consume turkey meat on any day. The bird is rare food on dinner table for the 1.7 billion Muslims around the world. Furthermore, for a practicing Muslim, every day is Thanksgiving day for being alive and healthy.
The global Halal market is over $150 billion a year and growing 3% annually. It’s good business which is attracting Butterbal and others to Halal market and not Islamic Shri’ah. For example, it was this very reason which attracted an Orthodox Jew, David Muller, to establish first Halal meat processing plant in Cambridge (Ontario, Canada) in 1999. David insisted that the chicken nuggets and beef burgers must always be prepared based upon the guiding principles of Islamic Halal (Zabiha).
