Niv Elis is a Breaking News Editor and blogger for the Israel daily Jerusalem Post. Niv’s grandfather, Feivel Eliash (born 1921), a Polish Jew, was among the group of Jewish terrorists who blew-up Jerusalem’s King David Hotel on July 22, 1946. The terrorist-bombing killed 92 Arab, British, Greek, Armenian and Jewish civilians and wounded 58. Feivel Eliash was a member of European Jewish militant group, Irgun Tzvai Leumi, headed by Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin.
Yitshaq Ben-Ami, a Palestinian Jew who spent 30 years in exile after the establishment of western colonial entity Israel investigating the crimes of the ‘Founders of Israel’ said that Menachem Begin authored the bombing plan but executed it after he recieved green-light from David Ben Gurion from his exile in Europe. The bombing was carried out to destroy all evidence the British had gathered proving that the terrorist crime waves in Palestine were not merely the actions of “fringe” groups such as the Irgun and Stern Gang, but were committed in collusion with the Haganah and Palmach groups and under the direction of the highest political body of the Zionist establishment itself, namely the Jewish Agency.

On the 66th anniversary of the bombing of the King David Hotel, Niv Elis, penned an article which was published by Jewish-Israeli propaganda organ ‘Tablet magazine‘ on July 19, 2012 – in which he quoted his grandfather saying he felt sorry for the civilian death as result of Jewish terrorism at King David Hotel – but he defended the later mass murder and expulsion of native Palestinian Muslims and Christians to “save the nation of Israel“.
“When his troops conquered Jafa during the War of Independence (independence from who?), there were 80,000 Arabs living there, but only 3,000 were left. The rest ran off (??). The Arabs were scared and started to leave and their leaders were so sure they could annihiliate the Jews they encouraged the flight until the fighting ended. This was the redemption of Israel,” Niv quoted his grandfather saying.
On March 25, 2010 – Christopher Hazou wrote in the Los Angeles Times that while the Israelis love to honor their Jewish terrorist – they’re very much offended if Palestinians or Arabs honor their martyrs. He compared the martyrdom of Palestinian teenager freedom-fighter, Dalal Mughrabi 19, with Jewish terrorist leaders Menachem Begin and Yitzhak Shamir. “Both men were responsible for the murder of far more innocents than Mughrabi, both men were unrepentant, and both men are honored in myriad way in Israel today. Yet there is one major difference between these two cases: The plaque honoring the bombers of the King David Hotel remains in place, whereas the official ceremony to honor Mughrabi was canceled,” wrote Christopher Hazou.
During the 2008 prisoner exchange between Israel and Hizbullah also included the return to Lebanon of seven Hizbullah martyres and the remains of Dalal Mughrabi and four of her team who were martyred in a 1978 raid into the Zionist entity.
