“The Jews are masters of the whiskey trade in the United States. Eighty per cent of the members of the National Liquor Dealers’ Association are Jews. It has been shown that 60 percent of the business of distilling and wholesale trade in whiskey is in the hands of the Jews,” John Foster Fraser in his 1916 book ‘The Conquering Jew’.

Catholic crusader Rev. Ted Pike and Abraham Foxman, head of the Israel lobbying Jewish group ADL have long been at logger-head. While Abbe Foxman has claimed that Christian Bible, the New Testament, preaches hatred toward Jews – Rev. Pike has criticized Abbe Foxman for authoring the ‘Hate Law’ against Christianity and supporting homosexual movement to undermine Christian values in the world. Listen to Rev. Pike interview with Deana Spingola below.

In his August 1, 2012 article, entitled ‘Rise and fall of Bronfman liquor empire‘ Pike claims ‘Alcohol is Jewish’. Rev. Ted Pike is against Zionist Jews, but he certainly is no friend of Muslims. He has criticized Mark Glenn and other Catholic writers for their association with Muslims against Israel. Pike feels that such association gives ammunition to Jewish groups like ADL to run a smear campaign against Christian leaders who criticize Jews or Israel. In his December 30, 2009 article, entitled ‘Israel’s increasing anti-Christianity‘, Ted Pike had wrongfully claimed that as result of Christian Crusades both European Christian and Arab Muslim “reached a compromise” which allowed the Jews, Christians and Muslims the freedom to worship for “nearly a millennium”. I refuted his claim in my January 2, 2010 post, entitled ‘Religious hatred in Israel’.

The reason of this post is not to agree or disagree with Ted Pike’s claim that Zionist Jews monopolize the booz industry – but to highlight the evil effects of drinking alcohol, which is rightfully prohibited in Islam as a major sin.

1. College Drinking: According to “Binge Drinking on College Campuses” (Center for Science in the Public Interest, December 2008), in 2005 there were approximately 7.2 million college binge drinkers, and 2.3 million heavy drinkers. This leads to 1,700 alcohol/drug related college deaths each year, 599,000 student injuries, 696,000 student assaults, 400,000 student incidents of engaging in unprotected sex, and some 70,000 instances of sexual assault. One estimate was placed at $80,000 per college just due to alcohol related vandalism.

2. Underage Drinking: According to the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Control, the cost of underage drinking to society from accidents, crime, academic underachievement, etc., is $64 billion per year.

3. DWI Costs: Driving While Intoxicated continues as a horrendous problem throughout the country. According to “The High Cost of Drunk Driving” (Russell Weisman, Article Alley, January 5, 2006), the cost to society from D.W.I. in 2001 was estimated at $230 billion tax dollars due to highway DWI collisions.

4. Impaired Employees: The annual employer cost of alcohol-related injuries to employees and their dependents was reported at $28.6 billion.

The World Health Organization (WHO) in its 2011 report said that that the harmful use of alcohol results in the death of 2.5 million people annually including 320,000 young people aged 15-29 years. According to Elliott R. Morss, Ph.D, alcohol is far more harmful than smoking. WHO reported in 2005 that Mali top annual consumption (male litres/year) in the world followed by Bosnia and Comoros.
