The citizens of Kenya’s coastal city of Mombasa have become victims of Israeli covert sectarian war again. The city is in grip of Christian-Muslim religious war since the assassination of a prominent Muslim cleric, Sheikh Aboud Rogo, by an ‘unknown assassin’ two days ago.

Sheikh Rogo was shot dead on Monday as he took his wife, Haniya Said, to hospital. His killing has turned Mombasa into a battle zone between the police and Muslim youths, with concerns mounting about the impact of the turmoil on religious divisions as well as on upcoming elections. Rogo’s wife sustained gunshot wounds in her legs while Rogo’s father Abdullah Ali who was also in the van, suffered slight injuries but the couple’s 8-year-old daughter was unhurt.

Sheikh Rogo is the latest victim of extra-judicial killings carried out by Kenyan authorities against innocent Muslims in Kenya. The other recent victims were Sheikh Samir Khan and Mohamed Kassim.

Sheikh Rogo, as a compassionate Muslim, was known to voice support for Harakat Al-Shabaab Al-Mujahideen, Muslim Brotherhood and Palestinian resistance against the Zionist regime.

Now, why I see Israel’s dirty hands behind these bloody riots? Israeli professor Benjamin Beit-Hallahmi (University of Haifa), in his controversial book, The Israel Connection, wrote that wherever Muslim communities are targeted in the world, Israelis have played a major part behind the scenes.

Let us visit the good-old Paradise Mombassa, an Israeli hotel in Kenya which used to be the major Israeli brothel in Africa. On November 22, 2002, the hotel was attacked by a group of terrorists and the phony Al-Qaeda was blamed by the Zionist-controlled mainstream media to hide Israeli involvement.

According to Hebrew daily, Maariv: “This is the story of a beautiful Israeli hotel on the African seashore. It is the story of an Israeli owned holiday resort in Mombassa, Kenya, designed and built solely for the Israeli tourist market. It is also the story of total abuse of the local impoverished population. It is a tale of humiliation, cruelty and continuous daily rape of struggling African women”.

On October 14, 2005, Israeli journalist Omri Hasenheim wrote from Kenya: “In hotel Paradise Mombassa, crew members were humiliated by the Israeli tourists. It’s no surprise that even after the 2002 terror attack on the hotel, they refuse to forgive, not Al-Qa’eda but rather us (the Israelis).”

Last year, Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga met Israeli prime minister Netanyahu, president Shimon Peres and defense minister Ehud Barak in Tel Aviv. According to Israeli daily, Ha’aretz (November 17, 2011); they discussed how to counter the rise of Islamic threat to the US, Israel and Christians in Africa. Kenya has several hundred soldiers in Somalia who are fighting US proxy war against the Islamic Resistance Al-Shabaab.

Raila Odinga and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni have called Israel “a lifesaver in the fight against Muslim radical groups“. Since its independence (December 1963), Kenya has maintained very close intelligence and security ties with the Zionist regime.

Western obsession of Al-Shabaab is based on several factors; off-shore oil and gas reserves; tens of million dollars worth of fishery; an open dumping ground for West’s nuclear waste (it costs US$2.5 to dump it in the Red Sea as compared to US$250 in some western country); the strategic importance of Horn of Africa for US imperialism, and of course Zionists’ fear of an additional anti-Israel Islamic state in that part of the world on top of Sudan.

The Red Sea piracy had been blamed on Israel by Yemen and Saudi governments – while both London and Washington are behind the Al-Qaeda bogey for exploitation of Somalia’s oil, uranium and other natural resources.

Kenya is home to over 4.5 million Muslims, or 12% of country’s total population. Majority (73%) are Sunnis, followed by Shias (8%) and the heretic Qadiais (4%). The great majority of Kenyan Muslims are practicing Muslims. The Kenyan coast is mostly populated by Muslims. Nairobi has several mosques.

There are approximately 5,000 Jews in Kenya. Jacob Sikverman wrote in Jewish website ‘Tablet’ (March 31, 2011) that more and more Kenyan Christians are adopting Judaism.
