EU: ‘Thou shalt not watch Iranian TV channels’

On Monday, European satellite provider Eutelsat SA announced that it has stopped broadcasting several Iranian satellite channels under orders from the European Commission. The company ordered media services company, Arqiva, to take the Iranian satellite channels off one of its Hot Bird frequencies on Monday.

The decision follows months of jamming of Iranian channels by the Zionist-controlled European satellite companies – which consider Iranian media narrative of world events an existential threat to the Zionist entity. Last week, one of America’s powerful Israel lobby group, ADL, had claimed that Iranian Press TV promotes anti-Semitism by providing air-time to anti-Israel western writers and activists.

European Union, like Barack Obama – has been awarded Nobel Peace Prize for its collaboration with Zionist bankers. Czech President Vaclav Klaus has termed it a “tragic mistake”. British ‘anti-Semite’ MP George Galloway wrote in twitter message that one should not be surprised if the next year’s Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to the Nobel Peace Prize Committee itself.

Some readers may recall British poet, Adrian Mitchell’s (died 2008) anti-war poems-collection, entitled Tell Me Lies, in which he wrote:

The Zionist-controlled Europe cannot afford ‘freedom of speech’ – because that will debunk the lies on which it created the Zionist entity. It’s against law to question the Zionists’ Six Million Died story in 15 European countries. Then Zionists have the so-called ‘Hate Law’ in the US, Canada and several European countries which make the criticism of Israel, Jews, Holocaust and Zionism as a crime.

After Barack Obama boasted America’s ‘belief in freedom of speech’ during his address at the US General Assembly last month – British veteran journalist Alan Hart wrote: “My challenge to the president is this. “When you are back in the White House for a second term, will you do whatever is necessary to ensure that all Americans (Congressmen and women especially) can enjoy the right of free speech even in the face of the Zionist lobby’s offensive to suppress it?”

Danny Schechter PhD, an American ‘self-hating Jew’ journalist, film-maker, author and blogger, posted on his blog ‘Tell Me Lies: European Satellites ordered to drop Iranian channels in disregard of free speech‘.

“Banning PressTv is an act of war against ideas, a misplaced maneuver that will not resolve any conflicts, will not promote peace or lead to more respect for Western ideas of free speech and press. The question is: will journalists in the West join me in denouncing this latest “sanction” against values that the West says it upholds. In its Article 19, the Declaration of Human Rights upholds the right to receive and impart information. This black out may violate other laws and agreements as well,” wrote Schechter.

“This is also the week that Ben Affleck’s hostage thriller Argo opened in movie theaters accross America. While the movie does criticize the Shah’s brutality, and the overthrow of the nationalist Mosadegh governent by the US and Britain, it also glamorizes the role the CIA played in freeing six hostages who fled the US embassy and sought refugee in the Canadian Ambassador’s home,” added Schechter.

That Canadian ambassador, Kenneth Taylor, who according to Professor Robert Wright’s book ‘Our Man in Tehran’ – was CIA Station head in Iran.

The Iranian Press TV Channel talked to Gilad Atzmon, an Israeli-born British writer, author and jazz-player to know his reaction over this latest ban on Iranian media outlets.

Press TV: Firstly, I wanted to get your reaction to this decision.

Atzmon: It obviously doesn’t take me by a big surprise. The old concept of ‘freedom of speech and tolerance’ is in a serious decay in Europe. In Britain, it already disappeared completely. We are living in a very dark age and it is now official.

Press TV: How does this all tie in with the fact that the European Union was recently awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and the various contradictions that that also brought up for the EU?

Atzmon: This is just there to prove how ridiculous is the Nobel Prize concept is. The whole concept of the Nobel Prize for peace has proven to be very misleading. But this is not the issue.

The issue is that we are living here and seeing our most elementary rights being jeopardized. Now, the West has prided itself with human rights for quite a few decades, and we’re obviously in a serious moment of regression on that front.

It’s pretty astonishing to see that Europeans themselves have for the time being kept silent about it. One of the reasons is because they are facing a financial turmoil, so probably are more concerned with bread and butter.

For me, the most crucial question as the person who specializes in analyzing and monitoring Jewish lobbying around the world is to try to identify the lobbies that are pushing for these measures. It seems to me, at least in Britain, you know, we have proved it beyond a doubt, it was the Jewish lobby that was pushing for silencing Press TV.

I guess that in the EU, the situation is very similar though…

Press TV: Mr. Atzmon, why exactly are we seeing this attack on the human rights such as freedom of speech, freedom of expression, etc’?

Atzmon: Because freedom of expression is the freedom to say what you think, feel and see.

At the moment it is clear beyond a doubt that the country I’m living in, Britain, is involved in more than a decade of an illegal war that left more than a million Iraqis dead.

The situation in Afghanistan is (also) very grave.

It is clear beyond a doubt that at least in regard to Palestine, to Iraq, to Afghanistan, Press TV delivered a story that cannot be seen in Britain because it really contradicts everything the government here claims to support or present.
