Recently, writing in Malasia’s top daily the New Straits Times former PM Dr. Mahathir Mohamad (born 1925) accused several American Jewish lobby groups for funding opposition political parties ahead of parliament election due in April 2013 – in order to bring-in a pro-Israel regime change in Malaysia. He named Jewish billionaire George Soro’s ‘Open Society Institute’, Kenneth Wollack’s ‘National Democratic Institute‘, Carl Gershman’s ‘National Endowment for Democracy’, the ‘International Republican Institute’, the ‘Chamber of Commerce’s Center for Private Enterprise‘ and the ‘American Center for International Labor Solidarity’ – all affiliated with Israel Lobby (AIPAC) and Jewish advocacy groups like ADL and B’nai Brith. Several of them receive funding from the US State Department.

This is not the first time, these pro-Israel groups have been exposed for destablizing Malaysia. In 1999, country’s FM Syed Hamid Albar had said that govenment consider moral and financial support from foreign groups to local political parties and NGOs unacceptable and “acts of interference”. Maybe, it’s time for Malaysian government to take a leaf from Russian prime minister Putin – and banned all these foreign supported groups.

Dr. Mahathir Mohamad is a well-known critic of the Zionist regime, US government for its blind support for Israel and AIPAC for its dirty laundry. He is patron of Kuala Lumpur-based Perdana Global Peace Foundation which supports Palestinian resistance groups. He also supported the Kuala Lumpur War Crime Commission which convicted both former US president George Bush and British prime minister Tony Blair for crimes against humanity in November 2011.

Malaysian prime minister Najib Razak belongs to Mahathir’s ruling UMNO party. Former deputy prime minister under Mahathir, Anwar Ibrahim is head of opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat. He has maintained close relations with several US Jewish lobby groups.

On June 27, 2011, opposition coalition (Bersih) leader Ambiga Sreenevasan admitted that her group had received funds from two US organizations – the National Democratic Institute and Open Society Institute.

Nile Bowie, an independent political commentator and photographer based in Kuala Lumpur posted an article on this subject on September 24, 2012 – which can be read here. My April 29, 2012 posting on this subject can be read here. Dr. Mahathir’s personnal blog can be read here.
