Two days ago, several Israeli newspapers (Ha’aretz, YNet, Israel National News, etc.) reported that Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal told King Abdullah II of Jordan that he accepts the so-called “two-state” solution to the occupied Palestine – Israel and Palestinian Territories.
However, according to Hamas sources, it was another Israeli false flag operation. On January 31, 2013, the Jerusalem Post refuted the Israeli media claim by quoting a senior Hamas leader, saying: “We will never agree to giving Zionist state one inch of the land of Palestine“.
King Abdullah II met Meshaal in Amman earlier this week after King’s meeting with the American Jewish delegate which had urged Abdullah to revive peace talks between Israel and PA leaders later.
“These claims are baseless. The two-state solution issue was not discussed between brother Meshaal and King Abdullah,” said Izzat al-Risheq, a senior Hamas official.
“International powers have been trying to create confusion among Hamas’ ranks by saying that Islamic movement has accepted the two-state solution. Hamas doesn’t accept the two-state solution under any circumstances,” said Yehya Musa, another senior Hamas leader.
The western powers after succeeding in turning Meshaal against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, are now trying their best to keep Hamas and Fatah divided while Egyptian and Qatari regimes are pulling strings to break Hamas-Iran alliance.
In fact, very few Israeli and American leaders believe in the so-called two-state option to resolve Israel-Palestine issue. Barack Obama says it should be based on pre-1967 borders with status of East Jerusalem and Palestinians’ right of return to be discussed between Israel and Fatah leaders. Israeli leaders, on the other hand, want the future Palestinian state to be a demilitarized state covering Gaza and part of Weat Bank – but no East Jerusalem. Such lame-duck Palestinian ghetto is not acceptable to Hamas, Islamic Jihad and a great majority among the nine million Palestinians.
