On March 21, 2013, the Carnegie Endowment for Internation Peace held a conference at its Washington DC offices to discuss the tenth anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq on the Jewish religious holiday of Purim, March 19, 2003. The event, titled “America’s Second-Longest War: Taking Stock,” assessed the current state of the Iraqi nation and the financial cost of the war to the US taxpayers. The panel included Ryan Crocker, former US ambassador in Iraq and Afghanistan, Samir Sumaida’ie, former Iraqi ambassador to the US, Emma Sky, former deputy to Lewis Paul Bremerr III, the Jewish administrator of US occupied Iraq (May 11, 2003 to June 28, 2004), Maj. Gen. H.R. McMaster and Zbigniew Brzezinski, former national security adviser to President Jimmy Carter. The Carnegie Endowment for Internation Peace is one of America’s oldest pro-government think tank and is funded by Jewish multibillionaire George Soro.
Samir Sumaida’ie said that there is a great deal of dissatisfaction among the Iraqis due to lack of security and employment. “The Iraqi government does not see the American presence as an integral part of its political calculation,” he observed. “There is more weight for what the Iranian regime thinks about political decisions in Iraq“.
Ryan Crocker did not agree fully with Samir Sumaida’ie. He asserted that even though US military presence in Iraq is minimum – Washington has other means to influence Iraqi government. Last year, Ryan Crocker, angered the Jewish lobby by endorsing Chuck Hagel as head of Pentagon. Last month, he joined a group of 35 ex-diplomats, military officials and other officials from both political parties – urging president Barack Obama to conduct direct talks with Iranian regime as the so-called “crippling sanctions” are only punishing ordinary Iranians, who still refuse to topple their anti-Israel Islamic regime.
Professor Sky observed that Sunni Kurd minority doesn’t trust prime minister Nuri al-Maliki, a non-practicing Shia. She avoided to explain the reason. The fact is – most of Iraqi Kurd leaders are Jewish or pro-Israel.
