According to British daily Guardian, Dr. Christopher Robert Hill, former US ambassador to Iraq (2009-2010) in a secret memo to US State Department, has claimed that the ‘Saudi royals’ are behind the on-going bloodshed in Shi’ite-controlled Iraq to counter Iranian influence in the country.

“Saudi Arabia is seeking to enhance Sunni influence and weaken the control of Shi’ite and the promotion of the government is weak and divided,” adding that “Saudi Arabia represents the biggest challenge and complex problem in relation to the Iraqi politicians who are trying to form a stable government.”

In June 2013, after the bombing of Shi’ite areas in Baghdad and other cities, Iraqi prime minister Nuri al-Maliki accused Saudi Arabian religious leaders of issuing anti-Shi’ite fatwas to incite sectarian war between Sunni-majority and Shi’ite-minority in Iraq and rest of the Muslim world. “The Saudis look to Iraq like Sunni-dominated barrier against the spread of Shi’ite Iran’s political influence,” said al-Maliki.

Hill said that “the Iraqi parliament’s efforts focused on the weak Shi’ite government separate from its Arab neighbors, and strategically dependent on Iran,” adding that “the Advisor to the Prime Minister Sadiq al-Rikabi stressed that Saudi Arabia is opposed to a strong government under the leadership of the Iraqi National Alliance.”

In August 2011, Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, said: “The occupation of Iraq by the U.S. did only good things for Iran.” Former British foreign sceretsry Lord David Owen, in an Op-Ed in daily Mirror said that US occupation of Iraq made Iran the most powerful regional power. However, Israel’s Jewish lobbyist, Reuel Marc Gerecht, former US diplomat, CIA operative and currently member of Jewish lobby group, American Enterprise Institute (AEI), disagrees. He believes the US still have the chance to counter Iranian influence in Iraq, if it plays the Sunni-Shi’ite card properly.

Many political analyst beleive that Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Egypt and other pro-USraeli puppet regimes in the region are sponsoring the Sunni-Shi’ite religious divide to benefit the US-Israeli interests in the region.

In 2007, Egyptian cleric Dr. Yusuf al-Qaradawi told Iranian president Ayatullah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani that both “Sunnis and Shi’ite communities need to be aware of conspiracies of the forces of hegemony and Zionism which aim to weaken Islam and tear it apart in Iraq.”

Last month, former Iranian president Dr. Ahmadinejad told Speaker of Iraqi Parliament, Osama al-Nujaifi,”certain enemies, including the Zionist regime, take pleasure in seeing some of the countries in the region gripped in turmoil because they don’t want these countries powerful and making progress“.

On August 10, 2013, Malaysian Sunni scholar, Dr. Chandra Muzzafar, President JUST International, wrote a very informative article over Sunni-Shi’ite divide.

Christopher Hill is the current Dean of Denver University’s Josef Korbel (Joseph core-BELL) School of International Studies. The internationally renowned school was founded in 1964 by former US Secretary of State, Madeliene Albright’s Jewish father.

In 2005, Hill was selected to lead the U.S. delegation to the Six-Party Talks on the North Korean nuclear issue. Previously, he has served as U.S. Ambassador to Poland (2000-2004), Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia (1996-1999) and Special Envoy to Kosovo (1998-1999). He also served as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Southeast European Affairs in the National Security Council.

Educated Muslims are aware of al-Saud’s history of subservience to world’s anti-Muslim forces. However, not many Muslims know al-Saud’s Jewish family’s Jewish background. D. Mustafa Turan in his book, ‘The Donmeh Jews’ has claimed that Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhab was a descendant of a family of Donmeh (Crypto) Jew from Turkey. The Donmey Jews followed the false Jewish messaih Rabbi Shabbatai Zevi who shocked the world Jewry by converting to Islam in 1666. Read more here.
