Gilad Atzmon: Iran must have nuclear deterrent

Israeli-born writer, author and musician, Gilad Atzmon, on September 14, 2013, once again urged Tehran to acquire a nuclear deterrent. He said that’s the only way to bring Israeli aggression to an end. This is not the first time, Atzmon has made such suggestion. He did on several occasions during the last ten years I happen to know him.

“Israeli leaders knew all along that Egypt possessed the capacity to inflict pain to Israel’s cities. They must have realised that Egyptian objectives were not genocidal – but it also means that Israel’s enemies: Arab countries, as well as Iran, must pursue every possible means to posses the kind of weaponry that deters Israel,” wrote Gilad Atzmon.

To prove his point, Gilad (he served in Israeli army as medic during Israel’s invasion of South Lebanon in the 1980s), says that Gen. Moshe Dayan rejected Israeli airforce command’s suggestion to attack military/civilian targets inside Egypt during the so-called “1973 Yom Kippur War”. Dayan feared that Egyptian may decide to use nuclear weapons which were allegedly supplied to Cairo by its USSR ally.

However, knowing Syria doesn’t posses a nuclear deterrent, Israeli airforce did attack Syrian airforce bases. The Russian-made SAMS did shot down a few of Israeli jets. To help the demoralized Israeli airforce, American jets were quickly repainted with Israeli Star of Zion with american pilots thrown into the breach. Some Pakistani pilots also took part on the Syrian side – destroying a few of Israeli jets.

Now, with Syrian chemical weapon deterrent under international control – the Zionist regime is free to bully its neighbors with its WMDs. Egypt is the only Arab country in the region in addition to Israel with known stockpiles of chemical weapons. Both Tel Aviv and Cairo refuse to put their WMDs to international inspection. Syrian president Assad has called upon Russia-US to apply pressure on Israel to follow Syrian lead.

Most of American leaders know that almost every American war in the Muslim world has been fought for the Zionist entity. But they’s affraid to say that in public without loosing their career after being branded antisemites by the powerful Jewish lobbying groups and the Zionist-controlled MSM.

The Israeli leaders don’t see Bashar al-Assad regime a threat to their occupation of Palestine, but they don’t approve his alliance with Iran and Hizbullah. Jodi Rudoren wrote in the ‘Jew York Times’ on September 5, 2-13.

“Israeli officials have consistently made the case that enforcing Mr. Obama’s narrow ‘red line’ on Syria is essential to halting the nuclear ambitions of Israel’s archenemy, Iran. More quietly, Israelis have increasingly argued that the best outcome for Syria’s two-and-a-half-year-old civil war, at least for the moment, is no outcome. For Jerusalem, the status quo, horrific as it may be from a humanitarian perspective, seems preferable to either a victory by Mr. Assad’s government and his Iranian backers or a strengthening of rebel groups, increasingly dominated by Sunni jihadis.”
