Sunspots + CME (March 3)

Unhypnotized

Truth feeder
Sunspots continue to pop up in various locations of the sun. Currently Sunspot 1164 in the north and 1166 which rotated into view on the eastern limb remain the largest regions. A new sunspot that formed between 1164 and 1166 was numbered 1167. Several C-Class flares took place during the day on Thursday and there will continue to be a chance for an M-Class event. A small and possibly earth directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is seen in the latest Lasco C2 movie. The latest SWPC update lists a slight chance for major geomagnetic storming at high latitudes by March 6.
