A few solar flares have taken place on Saturday around Sunspot 1166, the largest of which was an M1.3 at 04:43 UTC. This region retains its BETA-Gamma-Delta magnetic classification and should continue to produce M-Class flares. The persistant minor geomagnetic storming at high latitudes has eased up. It was caused by an incoming CME and periods of earth's geomagnetic field (Bz) tilting south. Many aurora contacts were made on 6 meters and visual aurora was seen as far south as the northern United States.
