Herschel satellite measuring chemical composition of celestial objects

Saturday, November 28, 2009

The European Space Agency ESA has presented a spectacular of measurements obtained with the infrared satellite Herschel. This satellite is equipped with several more known spectrometers that the chemical composition of objects within and outside our galaxy is measured. Also they observed temperature and density of matter that can be determined. The measurements are made, are still part of the testing of the satellite launched in May this year, but are now already high quality. Is looking for a more massive star that is nearing the end of his life and many outstanding matter, for the large star-forming region in the constellation Orion and two galaxies. The research has aimed to find out about the origins and evolution of stars and planets.
