I never use sunscreen...everyone should consider not using it...

Free Radical Generators and Gender-Bending Estrogenic Chemicals

For decades, irresponsible cosmetic companies and a small group of very vocal, publicity-seeking dermatologists have strongly advocated that chemical sunscreens should be heavily applied before any exposure to sunlight, even on young children. They insisted that such sunscreen use would prevent skin cancer and protect your health. This was despite of a lack of any adequate safety testing of these chemicals. (It should be emphasized that most dermatologists are much more cautious and careful.)
On the other hand, over the past decade, many scientists studying cancer have come to virtually the opposite conclusion; that is, the use of sunscreen chemicals may be increasing the incidence of cancer and that sunlight exposure may actually decrease human cancer rates and improve your health.
It now appears that many heavily-used chemical sunscreens may actually increase cancers by virtue of their free radical generating properties. And more insidiously, many commonly used sunscreen chemicals have strong estrogenic actions that may cause serious problems in sexual development and adult sexual function, and may further increase cancer risks.

Adding to the problem is that large amounts of applied sunscreens can enter the bloodstream though your skin. In the 1970s, Prof. Howard Maibach warned that up to 35 percent of sunscreen applied to the skin can pass through the skin and enter the bloodstream but this had little effect on sunscreen promotion or safety testing. (Maibach, H. "NDELA-Percutaneous Penetration." FDA Contract 223-75-2340, May 19, 1978) The longer sunscreen chemicals are left on the skin, the greater the absorption into the body. (Bronaugh, R.L., et al. "The effect of cosmetic vehicles on the penetration of N-nitrosodiethanolamine through excised human skin, J Invest Dermatol; 1981; 76(2): 94-96.) This may be a factor in the large increases in cancer (breast, uterine, colon, prostate) observed in regions, such as Northern Australia, where the use of sunscreen chemicals has been heavily promoted by medical groups and the local governments.

Do Chemical Sunscreens Increase Cancer?

Worldwide, the greatest rise in melanoma has been experienced in countries where chemical sunscreens have been heavily promoted The rise in melanoma has been exceptionally high in Queensland, Australia where the medical establishment has vigorously promoted the use of sunscreens. Queensland now has more incidences of melanoma per capita than any other place on Earth. (Garland, Cedric F., et al. Could sunscreens increase melanoma risk? American Journal of Public Health, Vol. 82, No. 4, April 1992, pp. 614-15)

Many Common Sunscreen Chemicals are Strong Estrogens

er group tested six common chemicals that are used in sunscreens, lipsticks and facial cosmetics. Five of the six tested chemicals (benzophenone-3, homosalate, 4-methyl-benzylidene camphor (4-MBC), octyl-methoxycinnamate and octyl-dimethyl-PABA) behaved like strong estrogen in lab tests and caused cancer cells to grow more rapidly.

Breast milk

Schlumpf's group also found estrogenic sunscreens in the breast milk of mothers at levels of nanograms per kilogram of fat. This is the about same level as other known environmental contaminants such as PCBs. Schlumpf commented that this exposure could be dramatically increased in childhood by the large amount of sunscreen used by bathers, especially children. Her group is following the offspring of 4-MBC exposed rats to see if they develop health problems.

Based on these results, the Swiss researchers concluded that the impact of sunscreens containing these "endocrine disruptors" should be investigated more closely, in particular their penetration through human skin.

This is a great post, I believe that skin cancer is caused by sunscreen, as well as other chemtrails and what we eat and bath with, such as soap and even the water from the tap.

...but I have never considered beast milk....

thanks for the post :)

Sunscreen is another huge scam. Tell us there's a problem and then give us a 'solution' that solves the supposed problem thereby causing the actual problem where there was no problem in the first place and then the general population believes that the problem caused by the solution is caused by the initial problem. Boy are people dumb! Ok, maybe not dumb, but they sure are blind.

The sun does NOT cause skin cancer. It never has! Sunscreen causes skin cancer. There are chemicals in the formula that when activated by the sun, cause the damage that occurs. Well, that and what's dropped on us from the chemtrails.

I have long suspected this whole sunscreen thing. I never like wearing it as a kid, and I certainly do not use it now. Nor do I allow my kids to use it.

I just wish people would listen when I tell them the harm in using this garbage on their skin. Eventually, I guess. Gotta let people wake up on their own time. I still try though.

I have to agree with the consensus of sunscreen being harmful. In all reality, anything that is man-made and not natural should not touch our bodies. Unfortunately, we can't avoid everything, especially when it comes to our foods, but we can avoid things such as sunscreens. We can avoid perfumes/colognes, perfumed soaps and shampoos, air fresheners, etc.

By avoiding these things, especially the sunscreen, myself and my children did not get burnt by the sun this summer, and we spent a lot of time out in the sun, swimming. We were outside more than usual this year, and yet, no sunburn. Normally, we all burn to the point of peeling. Truly amazing.

Sunscreen's great! and i love how it smells and feels on my skin. I haven't had any health problems from it [cough, cough, gag] and i've been using it for as long as i can remember. Wait, what was i saying?

Oh, yeah, sunscreen is awesome, it protects your skin from the damaging effects of the sun.

Sunscreen is pure poison hidden by a 'nice' scent. So are ALL perfumes! Unnatural and deadly. Just another one of those killers that acts slowly so that no one really knows the true reason why they are sick. Very effective killer, just the same.

Interesting post. Here I am, using sunscreen all these years to protect myself from what I thought was harmful effects of the sun, only to find out that I could be doing more damage to myself. It makes me sad to think about it. What do you do when you think you're doing the right thing and then find out that you're not?

Could there be underlying damage from the sunscreen that can show up after I've stopped using it? Am I still at risk for things like skin cancer after years of use? Could it carry over to my children when I choose to have some? What potential effects could this have in my future?

Just stop using this poison, I have never had a sun burn in my whole life and I have never used sunscreen. The sun has been shine on people of 1000's of years and no one used sunscreen, why start now? because the TV tells you too?

Well said 100th Monkey! Well said! TV tells us a lot of things, most of which is BS! Just because they sell a product in the store and they advertise it on tv and you always see them using it in movies and stuff when people go to the beach, doesn't mean you have to join in on the poison party.

Just think about this, dentist used to promote the use of cigarettes because they were 'good for you', can you believe it? So what happens when sunscreen comes out as a danger to our health much like cigarettes? Will you be addicted and continue use, or will you give it up because it's harmful?

Your choice.
