Funk

I know there has to be a reason for everything,, just in a big funk, about things. Like how do you all get out of a funk if you get into one? Any sugesstions?

My suggestion? You are thinking too much. Turn your brain off and go for a walk.... in the country preferably.... let the sun hit your face and turn everything that WAS mental energy into physical energy without thinking about anything except the experience of the present that you happen to be in.

I say walk but for me I saddle a good horse and take off into the hills. I just let my mind go blank and listen to the world around me, the sound my horse makes as he scrambles over rocks and trots over open fields.... or through the desert.

I wear myself out ( and Quill too sometimes!) but he and I come back energized for the next day....

Try it. Just throw yourself into motion without thought. Amazing how that helps. Linda

Thank you for the suggestion, I do walk alot, sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't, unfortunately, I never thought of trying to turn my thoughts off though. They are right along with me all the way for the walk. It would be nice to be in the country, I've nearly always thought that, alot of distractions in the city, maybe that would help to take my mind off things though. It's worth a try.

But now when I go for a walk especially early on the weekend,(I'm an early morning walker, since it's hot for most of the day) it's alot more quiet. I'll try to remember to do it on the weekend walks as well.

It doesn't really matter where you are though it might just SEEM tougher in the city.

Watch this..... I haven't been able to see it yet.... but someone said that it would be a big help. He thinks that I am too worried about too many things.... have too many things " up in the air" he says... so his advice was just to watch this and enjoy the tallent of this particular juggler. He is not MAKING things happen.... I was told.... Just watch what a wonderous dance this is.... between himself and the balls....and our lives could be the same way.... The sailor by the way is from Russia..........Tell me what you think! Linda

Think of a color when you set about to silence the " noise" in your mind. Just cover yourself with it....Linda

I'd say the juggler was very talented, with his juggling, certainly never saw a juggling act quite like that one. Enjoyed the video.

I have not seen it yet but I have been told that it is special and spectacular and maybe even a demonstration of what we are talking about here. You couldn't possibly THINK your way through all the moves that it would take to get that routine perfected... could you? There is something else going on here... I have been told.... and as soon as I can I am going to watch it over and over and over again. Sometimes things come to you when you let others go...

I don't know what has you in a " blue funk" ( Thats what my Mom used to call it) but know that it is a passing thing.... it might be affecting you more right now because of the change of seasons.... that happens with alot of us.... your body just needs a few moments to " reset" its enthusiasms. Be kind to yourself. Things go in cycles and if you are low now you will feel better soon. Linda

I don't know maybe it is possible if the guy has been doing it say as soon as he could walk and with talent, maybe, or maybe like a magician with some bag of tricks combo. It could even be the "tricks" of the camera itself. But it was a very unique way of juggling.

I know what part of it is, but wouldn't want to tell the whole forum by putting it on as part of general discussion. But thank you for the advice we'll see, there has to be a reason for everything. (Hope you get to watch that video, whatever it is it special,it maybe could be something as to how it begins, that is odd.) I try to remind myself of that. Maybe some of it is physical.
