Warship returns from Caribbean

HMCS Toronto and two Aurora patrol planes are back in Nova Scotia after a month-long deployment in the Caribbean to stop drug runners.

The warship and the long-range aircraft helped to intercept more than 1,650 kilograms of cocaine, the Defence Department says.

HMCS Toronto was a base of operations for a U.S. Coast Guard team — the first time for a Canadian navy vessel.
