Long Island’s movers and shakers are noodling around, trying to figure out how to get invited to power broker Paul Tonna’s monthly dinners at an undisclosed Italian restaurant in Nassau County.

Tonna, the executive director of Molloy College’s Energeia Partnership and former presiding officer of the Suffolk Legislature, dines with the likes of State Regent Roger Tilles, Northville’s Gene Bernstein, Cold Spring Harbor Lab’s Bruce Stillman, Molloy’s Drew Bogner, Stony Brook’s Yacov Shamash and TD Bank LI Chair Ed Travaglianti.

Tonna’s invitation-only dinners are a big deal because even in today’s depressed market, deals are brokered over plates of rigatoni.

LIBN sources said that Tonna’s next dinner will include at least one new face. Also, women are being included as guests, signifying more women are reaching the decision-making ranks of Long Island’s elite.
