Paper trays on an average day in office bag. And at a time when we are especially via e-mail communication. Why continue to paper trade?

That idea is now in the public sector of society. The Ministry of Economic Affairs has started the e-invoicing, digital accounts and send invoices to promote. "An average bill consists of two to three pages. Throw in an envelope, which is equal to an A4 paper: an invoice is sent to the government, to an average of three pages A4 paper, "says Basware, a company that supports companies in the field of e -invoicing.

"Why it has lasted so long that in real work is, I know not. In Scandinavia, the government has a leading role itself, which is also a requirement, "says Jean Paul Jonker of Basware. An active role of government is necessary because invoices authenticity requirements and technical requirements, thresholds above which should be removed.

"If 10 percent of all invoices electronically delivered, or one million electronic bills, we reduce the number of felled trees (one million times three pages divided by 12,000 =) 250 per year," said Basware, of course, also a business interest. For companies are now once 'no ecology without economy.

Early April is organizing the Ministry of Economic Affairs a symposium on e-invoicing in Den Haag. How long it will take for all this tree-saving business practice, adoption is still unknown.
