The sun is 4.6 billion years ago in a group of a few thousand stars, says research by Simon Portegies Zwart of the University of Amsterdam. His analysis shows that these stars are found in a stereoscopic with a diameter of less than 20 light years and a mass of 500 to 3000 solar masses, especially on the other side of the Milky Way, about 44,000 light years from where we now live. The research results will soon be published in The Astrophysical Journal.
In the course of time the sun about 27 times around the Galaxy finally been at its present location at about 28,000 light years away from the center point. The stars with the sun were formed during that entire trip Friday close. The analysis shows that there is still a piece or 40 of them within a distance of a few hundred light years from the sun, and still travel.
