EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF?S OFFICE POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUAL
EL PASO COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE POLICY AND PROCEDURE MANUAL.
OTHER AGENCY SUPPORT/MILITARY SUPPORT:
Normal channels will be followed to coordinate efforts between various law enforcement agencies
within the region. Current mutual aid agreements shall be adhered to with the ultimate authority
resting with the command structure of the Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s Office commissions have
been granted to officers from neighboring agencies to ensure that arrest powers and jurisdictional
concerns should not be a factor. If the situation deteriorates to the point that a martial law
declaration is necessary, the Sheriff shall contact the Governor of Colorado, request the activation
of National Guard units, and seek a declaration of martial law
