Something wicked this way comes. I've been thinking trying to put my finger on this for awhile.

I do think something is going to occur this year just what I don't know. Even our local station is getting in on the act with a half hour special tomorrow night Solar Flares: Are you at risk?

Whose to say is this a real Solar flare or maybe a cover for EMP strike to make it look like a Solar Flare. Only time will tell. Whatever, people should not fear the sun, and TPTB are good at instilling fear. The line down there Governments are taking it seriously. I'm sure they are.

Experts say the sun is reaching a peak in its 10-year activity cycle, putting the Earth at greater risk from solar storms.Power grids, communications and satellites could be knocked out by a massive solar storm in the next two years, scientists warn.

Mike Hapgood, a space weather specialist at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory near Didcot, Oxfordshire, said: "Governments are taking it very seriously. These things may be very rare but when they happen, the consequences can be catastrophic."

I wonder where this solar storm is going to hit on our globe this time?

We've been "lucky" so far, I wouldn't doubt that it hits here.

If a solar flare with enough intensity hit the U.S. is could cause the electrical grid to go down for an extended period in which case food and water could be disrupted and people would find themselves in a very bad situation.

Yes, I'm somewhat familiar with what it could do, but thanks for adding that in. I also wish to add a CME (coronal mass ejection) could do the same thing. I know we would be in a world of hurt then. Hopefully it won't happen until they can figure out how to protect our grid.

What I was questioning is the way they keep mentioning this subject in the MSM quite a bit now. We did have the one X-flare but thankfully it never affected us.
