On Tuesday, Zimbabwe’s top court, the Constitutional Court, rejected America’s favorite Zimbabwean opposition MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai’s appeal that country’s July 31 presidential election be declared “fraud”. Chief Justice Godfrey Chidyausiku declared that veteran Robert Mugabe won a fiercely contested presidential election fair and square.
Robert Mugabe, 89, had received 61% votes against his opponent, the outgoing prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai’s 34%. Mugabe’s swearing-in ceremony on August 22, was attended by leaders from 40 foreign countries. This extends Mugabe’s 33-year rule for another five years.
According to a Wikileaks cable released in 2009, Morgan Tsvangirai wrote a letter to President Obama on the role sanctions would have on Zimbabwe.
“As we approach the end of 2009, a period that has turned out to be a watershed for Zimbabwe, I write to convey my appreciation for the support we have received from you personally, the government and people of your great nation. Kindly pass on my warm thanks also to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton,” wrote Tsvangirai.
However, despite Washington-Pretoria covert activities to bring a regime change in Harare, Mugabe secured another victory when on August 20, Southern African leaders hailed his re-election and selected him the next chairperson of Southern African Development Community (SADC). Ahead of July 31 election, the powerful Zionist lobby group, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) issued a report, urging both the US and South Africa to make sure, Mugabe doesn’t win another term as that will create a civil war in the country.
Mugabe, on the other hand, has claimed that the western powers want a regime change in order to plunder country’s gold, diamond, uranium, coal, platinum, chrome and iron-core deposits. “This land is ours, the country is ours. If you hear them talk about regime change, they mean removing Mugabe so that they can exploit our mineral wealth at will,” Mugabe told his supporters at a rally in Chitungwiza, near capital city of Harare.
Having failed to bring a pro-USrael regime change through ballot, the Zionist-controlled governments in Washington and London has now brought-in their favorite ‘Iranophobia’ card. British daily The Times of London, owned by Israel-Firster Rupert Murdoch, has reported that US State Department warned “Zimbabwe running huge risk if it sends uranium to Iran”.
“The Government of Zimbabwe is bound by its commitments to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and relevant legally binding UN Security Council resolutions” the report continued “The United States is committed to preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon. We urge all countries to fully implement and enforce their obligations under multiple UN Security Council resolutions not to provide Iran with materials that could be used to develop a nuclear weapon,” reported The Times.
Zimbabwe’s Mines Minister Obert Mpofu’s responds to Washington’s allegation, was: “We are free to trade with any country but my ministry has not signed an agreement about uranium with Tehran. It is fiction and usual wishful thinking of the Western media. Why would we have a secret deal when we are a free country?”.
This hoax has resurfaced after three years. Former Iranian President Dr. Ahmadinejad met Zimbabwean Presiden Robert Mugabe in Harare in April 2010. During his visit Iranian official signed mutual agreements in the fields of science, mining, industry, agriculyure and tourism. The Jewish-controlled mainstream media distorted Harare-Tehran relation, claiming Mugabe agreed to sell uranium to Iran, which later could use to make nuclear device and ‘wipe Israel of map’.
Israel supplied arms and training to Rhodesian White army. It maintained it relations with Harare after the demise of the White rule.
