British scientists condemn the use of GM food trials in children unacceptable

Critics are furious that the genetically modified rice not feed through tests done to ensure that it is safe for children is given.
The decision to use children condemned as "totally unacceptable" by a group of 22 scientists, all GM critics in Britain and throughout the world.
They claim that the initiatives is indicative of the biotech lobby, led by the United States and biotech companies, to genetically modified food in the mouths of the world to enforce without a proper assessment.
The project was funded and implemented by the U.S. National Institutes of Health and focused on children in China and America.
The scientists have written an open letter to the team behind the experiments, the way they were executed was convicted.
It states: "We write to express our unpleasant surprise and unequivocal public condemnation of the experiments carried out by your colleagues that feeding genetically modified Golden Rice to human subjects involved.
The letter says that there is "hopelessly inadequate preclinical evaluation of the rice.
The scientists argue that a large amount of evidence showing that genetically modified food production can provoke gene mutations that can result in harmful health effects in animals fed GM food ".
