AMSTERDAM -- Archaeologists in Egypt have a very special discovery done. They found the dead in temple of the Egyptian pharaoh Amenhotep III in Luxor near Thebes-west two large statues on.



That the Egyptian antiquities department announced today.

One of the two figures, in separate parts excavated, is made from quartzite and shows the pharaoh as a sphinx. The second image is of black granite and shows the Egyptian king in a sitting position.

From no other than Egyptian pharaoh Amenhotep III (ca 1379 - 1340 BC.) Are so many statues discovered.
