ADHD drugs like Ritalin to help in the short term perhaps, but the children who swallow the long-term experiment with more drugs, become addicted more quickly and show rapid and aggressive criminal behavior than their peers. Nevertheless, in the Netherlands Ritalin popular as can be seen from the explosive growth in sales of ADHD drugs in the following graph.
First is their use of medicines is limited, as it turns out. Medications help in the short term to calm children and to be able to concentrate on (school) tasks, but after three years is often more effective behavioral and reverse the hard with the children. Children who take Ritalin, are easier to experiment with alcohol and drugs than their peers. The risk of being in contact with the police through violence, theft or other criminal conduct is greater. Another recent study showed that Ritalin has similar effects on the brains and regular cocaine use, and just as addictive.
