On the second day of her campaign for the coming September 4 provincial election Parti Quebecois (PQ) leader Pauline Marois has urged the province’s post-secondary students to end their nearly six-month-long strike against the Liberal government’s plans (Bill 78) to dramatically increase university tuition fees by 75% over the next seven years.
The PQ is promising that within the first 100 days of taking office it will rescind Bill 78.
The ‘big busness’ PQ’s truce call is part of a campaign uniting all sections of the establishment to suppress the student strike and the broader movement of social contestation to which it has given rise.
When it comes to Israeli interests, all three major parties in Quebec assembly and local mainstream media are united. Not long ago, Pauline Marois stated, unequivocally, that the PQ would refuse to support any kind of boycott of Israel.
Israel lobby Jewish group, B’nai Brith Canada, has condemned the student protests being ’anti-Semitic’ as some protesters have been spotted using ‘Nazi salute’ to mock the Montreal police officers, calling them “SS fascists” for their alleged brutality. There have also been swastikas on anti-police pamphlets being distributed.
In both Germany and Austria, the “Nazi-salute” and Nazi-era symbols are outlawed. Just last year, a Quebecer was arrested for performing the salute on the steps of the Reichstag in Berlin for a photo. Incidently, Rabbi Wolf Gunther Plaut, former president of Canadian Jewish Congress (CJC) and Chief Rabbi at Toronto’s Holy Blossom Temple in his 1990 book ‘The Man Who Would Be Messiah‘ has claimed that Frankist Jews committed the Holocaust.
Quebec’s only Muslim lawmaker, Dr. Amir Khadir from the Québec Solidaire, has long been under Israel lobby’s gun for supporting BDS movement against the Zionist entity.
