Step by set guide on how to fix your facebook.com default email address

Facebook has changed everyone's default email address to a facebook.com address on their facebook profile.

The prpblem with this is if anyone sends you an email to that address it will automatically publish the email to your timeline. Which makes a protection private email public and everyone on your friend list can see the email.

Here is a step by set guide on how to fix your facebook.com default email address:

So, how do you reclaim your personal email? The process is simple, just follow these steps:

Firstly, on your personal profile, click on Update Info below and to the right of your cover photo:


Next, locate the Contact Info box:

You will note that it shows my facebook.com email address
Click on Edit and it shows your email addresses:

You will see that the facebook.com email address has an open circle to the right of it, whereas my other email addresses have a line through the circle. This means that the facebook.com address shows on Timeline, the others are hidden.
On the pull-down arrows next to the circle, select “Hidden from Timeline” next to the facebook.com address

and then against the email address you want to show publicly, select “Shown on Timeline”:

Click “Save Changes” and you’re done.
If an outside agency intercepted your private email in what is called in hacking circles a “Man In The Middle” attack it would be viewed as criminal behaviour. Let’s be generous to Facebook and say that this move comes from arrogance rather than malign intent – but now that they are a public company they have institutional investors to worry about, and it’s unlikely that those investors will be too happy with Mark Zuckerberg over this bad publicity. Maybe they will learn a lesson from here on?

Unfortunately, FB has made it permanent. I've complained about it, not that it does any good. I've also joined a group against it. I don't like it either.

Facebook doesn't seem to care what any of their users want, Facebook changes its entire site to suit their needs, not the users needs. And Facebook will continue to do this until people stop using it.

And when will that be lol.. thatll only be when another site or something else pops up that sems to be better

Before Facebook a lot of people were using MySpace, so there will always be another website that people be using.

Facebook just offers a much easier way to do things that people were doing on the Internet before Facebook was around anyways. People can post all the same stuff they post on Facebook through e-mails and communicate with instant messenger. Facebook just makes it easier for people who have a difficult time with software to get involved. And that is why it's so popular today. Not to mention that the popularity of cell phones has allowed more people to interact with Facebook then there was in the past such as when MySpace was popular.

You know if it wasn't for Facebook being a good tool for spreading truth I would say stop using it. But unfortunately the masses use it all the time and because of this it can be used as a tool to push truth in their face, even if they refuse to look there is on their Facebook page.

So I say don't stop using it, turned their tool of collecting information on us, against them!

Remember people only see what they want to see. Even when the truth is staring them in the face. The matter how much truth you plaster on Facebook if people are not ready for it they're just not listen. They will wake up when the ready. As of now people who are not awake just think people like us are crazy.
