Against The Police State May Come Against The TSA

There is a growing public resistance campaign across U.S. airports against the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for routinely performing creepy pat-downs on passengers of all ages and all backgrounds and also submitting them to naked body scanners that are not only intrusive and unnecessary, but, according to scientists from Johns Hopkins University, are harmful to people’s health.

Despite making no difference in airport security and the fight against government manufactured terrorism, the TSA’s unpopular screening measures have not yet been terminated by the Department of Homeland Security, the agency that the TSA falls under. But that may change in the near future as there exists the possibility that millions of fed-up Americans will join John Tyner, who refused to be subjected to the TSA’s perverted security ritual at San Diego International Airport on Saturday, and take collective action against the government’s invasion of their humanity.

Amidst the renewed public scrutiny of the TSA thanks to Tyner’s courageous act of dissent, a public boycott campaign against the TSA’s invasive and humiliating techniques was started by James Babb and George Donnelly called “We Won’t Fly” which urges travelers to refuse to go through naked body scanners on November 24. They write:

“We are opposed to the full-body backscatter x-ray airport scanners on grounds of health and privacy. We do not consent to strip searches, virtual or otherwise. We do not wish to be guinea pigs for new, and possibly dangerous, technology. We are not criminals. We are your customers. We will not beg the government anymore. We will simply stop flying until the porno-scanners are history.”

Jane Hamsher of Firedoglake.com began a petition to press Congresspersons to investigate the TSA, which is publicly harassing John Tyner for the crime of refusing to be treated like a slave. Sign the petition here. Hamsher also wrote an article called, “Investigate the TSA, Not Tyner,” explaining the reasons for the petition, and why Tyner must be aggressively supported for his act of resistance. She says:

“The new pat-down policy for refuseniks, which started on November 1, has been described by the Airline Pilots Association as “sexual molestation” — and it’s nothing more than a way to punish people who might boycott the Department of Homeland Security’s expensive new boondoggle scanners. And prosecuting Tyner is blatant and very public way to intimidate anyone who might follow his lead.This goes to show just how how constant threats of “terror” are used to create new markets for products nobody needs. The public is then intimidated into compliance in the name of “national security,” when in reality they’re sacrificing their dignity, their civil liberties and their tax dollars for the sake of enormous profits.”

The site WorldNetDaily has also started a petition, specifically calling for the “immediate suspension of the enhanced security screening procedures and an apology to the American public by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano for directing the implementation of this ill-advised program.” Clearly, everybody is pissed off, regardless of political beliefs. Even the war hawk Jeffrey Goldberg, the man who helped persuade the American people that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction, is against the TSA’s groping of balls and breasts, saying in his recent post that, “it is the official position of Goldblog that everyday is opt-out day. There’s no need to wait until November 24th.” Speaking to Stephen Colbert on Monday night, Goldberg said that if U.S. government agencies are relying on TSA agents for national security then something is wrong because tracking down terrorists doesn’t require physically touching little girls and grandmothers as they get ready to board a plane.

Government officials like Janet Napolitano, the slimy Secretary of Homeland Security, TSA administrator John Pistole, and Senator Joe Lieberman arrogantly dismiss the public anger and outrage, insisting that pat-down techniques and naked body scanners are entirely justifiable, and that without them Americans wouldn’t be safe.

On Monday, November 15, Lieberman went onto MSNBC,

Andrea Mitchell:

“We’ve got to all think as we’re feeling uncomfortable about the pat-downs that we could be on a plane on which somebody is prepared to blow themselves and us up unless there is such a pat-down. So, unfortunately, that’s the age in which we live and I think what the Department of Homeland Security is doing right now is necessary.”

On Tuesday, November 16, Pistole addressed members of the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs about the public uproar against the TSA, saying that the agency won’t bend to public pressure. The Washington Post reported;

“Pistole told the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs that his inspectors at 453 of the nation’s airports are not going to back down in the face of complaints that techniques are invasive.”

Napolitano defended the creep pat-downs and the dangerous naked body scanners in an op-ed in USA Today on Monday, writing:

“We face a determined enemy. Our security depends on us being more determined and more creative to adapt to evolving threats. It relies upon a multi-layered approach that leverages the strengths of our international partners, the latest intelligence, and the patience and vigilance of the American traveling public.”

The fact that Napolitano and other government officials are shamelessly resorting to the fear of the “determined enemy” to sell the American people on the government’s latest crackdown on individual liberties is yet another reminder that the biggest public enemy today is the government itself. In the name of “security” U.S. Government agents read citizens’ emails, listen in on their phone calls, and cuttle their private parts. The message by the regime in Washington to the American citizen is “You’re a slave and you need to be protected by terrorists.” Of course, they don’t ever mention that the biggest terrorists are them.

Glenn Greenwald, commenting on John Tyner’s brave act of resistance, wrote, “This is the sort of outrage that really merits a national uprising in defense of this citizen.” It remains to be seen how long the public backlash against the TSA and Homeland Security continues. There is a possibility that the criminal traitors in Washington may stage another fake terror incident in an effort to instill fear in the American people like they did last Christmas, and silence any talk of a popular boycott against invasive security measures.

with Alex Jones on Tuesday, John expressed his hope that more individuals will defy the TSA, and that the agency will eventually be abolished, but was skeptical whether the issue will remain in the public conversation in the coming weeks and months. “In general people tend to have short attention spans. I had an interview canceled on me this morning because Prince William announced his engagement. So, I don’t know, I mean I certainly hope it ends up with possibly even the TSA being abolished, but that seems unlikely given people’s attention spans seem to be pretty short.”

Although John’s level-headed comments are true in many ways, it looks like the TSA scandal isn’t going away. Next week is National Opt-Out Day, which means public pressure is building against the TSA. Websites across the political spectrum are circulating petitions to gather support to shut down the TSA’s invasive airport procedure, and they are getting thousands of signatures. This is a hot button issue that rightly angers and disgusts a lot of people, even those that take the threat of terrorism seriously. John has already provided the example of a brave citizen. His act of resistance should be followed by millions more. “If more people record the TSA,” said Alex, “and if more people confront them, they’re not going to get away with this.”

While I have no stake in the fight against the TSA as I am not an American citizen, and probably won’t step foot in any U.S. airport in the near future, I am wholeheartedly dedicated to fighting and bringing an end to the transnational Big Brother police state. The TSA lays claim to only one battlefield in the police state’s war on public liberty, which besides airports include public streets, and cyberspace. But this war can end if people come together and redraw the lines between the government and society, making it clear to the government that it shall not overstep its limited responsibilities in public life.

By resisting and defeating the intrusive TSA through non-violent resistance and public boycotts in the tradition of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. the American people will quickly discover how much power they really have, and grow in confidence so that one day, not far away from now, they will be able to boldly stare into the fearful and sickly eyes of the war criminals and state terrorists who captured the American government in the cover of darkness and send them back into the hell that they came from. There is not a moment to waste. This opportunity must be seized because another one may not come for a long time.

TSA Hit With Lawsuits As Revolt Explodes

In one shocking incident, TSA goons pulled down woman’s blouse, exposing her breasts, and laughed about it

The TSA has been hit with a number of lawsuits as the revolt against Big Sis, naked body scanners, and invasive groping measures explodes, with one case involving a woman who had her blouse pulled down in full public view by TSA goons who then proceeded to laugh and joke about her exposed breasts.

Nationwide outrage against the TSA is not only bringing to light new cases of airport abuse, it’s throwing fresh attention on previous incidents that have been going on for years.

One of the most disturbing, which is subject to an ongoing lawsuit, involved a 21-year-old college student from Amarillo Texas. The woman was passing through security at Corpus Christi airport on May 29 2008 when she was subjected to “extended search procedures” by the TSA.

“As the TSA agent was frisking plaintiff, the agent pulled the plaintiff’s blouse completely down, exposing plaintiffs’ breasts to everyone in the area,” the lawsuit said. “As would be expected, plaintiff was extremely embarrassed and humiliated.”

TSA workers continued to laugh and joke about the incident “for an extended period of time,” leaving the woman distraught and needing to be consoled. After the woman re-entered the boarding area, TSA workers continued to humiliate her over the incident.

“One male TSA employee expressed to the plaintiff that he wished he would have been there when she came through the first time and that ‘he would just have to watch the video,’” the suit said.

The woman filed an administrative claim against the TSA but was forced to launch a full lawsuit after the agency failed to respond.

The incident bears similarities to a 2002 case involving a pregnant woman who had her breasts exposed by TSA agents in public. Her husband was thrown in the airport jail for complaining about the treatment of his wife.

Another lawsuit against the TSA involves Ron Corbett, a businessman and frequent traveler who is so infuriated by the plethora of cases where TSA workers have sexually groped passengers, squeezing breasts and genitals, that he has filed a lawsuit in federal court in Miami requesting an injunction against the TSA to prevent them from touching private areas without reasonable suspicion.

Corbett writes about his lawsuit on a blog entitled TSA Out Of Our Pants.

“Having grown up in New York and personally seeing the smoke rise from the towers that morning in 2001, I know the threat of terrorism is real, and I know we must defend ourselves. This does not mean that the Constitution should be ignored, and indeed, the TSA has plenty of alternative screening procedures that are less invasive. Besides the privacy issue, there have been health issues raised as to the radiation produced by the imaging devices, as well as efficacy issues, with no good studies having been done to show that this imagery makes us any safer,” writes Corbett.

Yet another lawsuit involves The Rutherford Institute, which is suing the feds on behalf of two pilots over the use of full body scanners.

“Those pilots recently refused to go through a controversial whole body imaging scanner, and also refused the alternative, the TSA’s new, more invasive pat downs,” reports CBS 6.

The lawsuit, which personally names both TSA chief John Pistole and DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, argues that the scanners violate the Constitution’s protection against unreasonable searches and seizures under the 4th Amendment.

The TSA could also be hit with a fourth lawsuit if they pursue an $11,000 claim against John Tyner, otherwise known as “don’t touch my junk guy”. Speaking on The Alex Jones Show yesterday, Tyner insisted he would file a counter lawsuit if the TSA continued to pursue him over his refusal to submit to an airport groping.

Another victim, radio host Owen JJ Stone, who had a TSA agent put his hand inside his pants and touch his backside and genitalia, has not indicated he will pursue charges, but has vowed instead to use his treatment as an example of why the TSA needs to be stopped in its tracks or abolished altogether.

Pistole faces another grilling from lawmakers today on Capitol Hill at a Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation.

George Soros also profiting off controversial new TSA scanners

Be sure and read Tim Carney’s Examiner column today on the politically-connected lobby for the controversial new TSA scanners that are upsetting airline employees and travelers everywhere. Carney notes that a company called Rapiscan got a $165 million contract for the new body image scanners four days after the underwear-bomber incident this past Christmas. Not surprisingly, Rapiscan is politically connected, observes Carney:

Rapiscan got the other naked-scanner contract from the TSA, worth $173 million. Rapiscan’s lobbyists include Susan Carr, a former senior legislative aide to Rep. David Price, D-N.C., chairman of the Homeland Security Subcommittee. When Defense Daily reported on Price’s appropriations bill last winter, the publication noted “Price likes the budget for its emphasis on filling gaps in aviation security, in particular the whole body imaging systems.”

Then this morning Carney also noted that former Homeland Security secretary Michael Chertoff was flacking for Rapiscan.

As for the company’s other political connections, it also appears that none other than George Soros, the billionaire funder of the country’s liberal political infrastructure, owns 11,300 shares of OSI Systems Inc., the company that owns Rapiscan. Not surprisingly, OSI’s stock has appreciated considerably over the course of the year. Soros certainly is a savvy investor.

Note that OSI Systems CEO is Deepak Chopra, but it appears to be a different Deepak Chopra than the more famous liberal new age guru.

Sacramento Traveler Outraged At TSA Goon Who Put Hands Up Her Skirt

SACRAMENTO, CA – A 43-year-old wife and mother who insists she’s no prude was “stunned and shocked” by the pat-down she received by a security screener Tuesday at Sacramento International Airport.

“It was absolutely dehumanizing. I felt totally violated,” said Detroit-bound traveler Wendy James Gigliotti by telephone during a layover in Denver.

Gigliotti said she had never had a problem with the routine “back of the hand” pat-downs she had experienced on previous trips, and was expecting something similar when she was selected at random for secondary screening by a female employee of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Gigliotti was wearing a loose-fiiting skirt and she said the TSA screener put her hands up the skirt.

“She said ’spread your legs.’ And then she took her full palms and started at my neck and ran all the way down my body, full palms, constant contact. And when she got down to my feet, she was in constant contact from my ankles all the way up to my groin, across my groin, and down the other leg. And she did that twice,” Gigliotti said.

Flashback: Penn Jillette Calls Cops on Groping TSA Agent

Last Thursday I was flying to LA on the Midnight flight. I went through security my usual sour stuff. I beeped, of course, and was shuttled to the “toss-em” line. A security guy came over. I assumed the position. I had a button up shirt on that was untucked. He reached around while he was behind me and grabbed around my front pocket. I guess he was going for my flashlight, but the area could have loosely been called “crotch.” I said, “You have to ask me before you touch me or it’s assault.”

He said, “Once you cross that line, I can do whatever I want.”

I said that wasn’t true. I say that I have the option of saying no and not flying. He said, “Are you going to let me search you, or do I just throw you out?”

I said, “Finish up, and then call the police please.”

When he was finished with my shoes, he said, “Okay, you can go.”

I said, “I’d like to see your supervisor and I’d like LVPD to come here as well. I was assaulted by you.”

He said, “You’re free to go, there’s no problem.”

I said, “I have a problem, please send someone over.”

They sent a guy over and I said that I’d like to register a complaint. I insisted on his name and badge number. I filled it out with my name. The supervisor, I think trying to intimidate me, asked for my license, and I gave it to him happily as he wrote down information. I kept saying, “Please get the police,” and they kept saying, “You’re free to go, we don’t need the police.” I insisted and they got a higher up, female, supervisor. I was polite, cold, and a little funny. “Anyone is welcome to grab my crotch, I don’t require dinner and a movie, just ask me. Is that asking too much? You wanna grab my crotch, please ask. Does that seem like a crazy person to you?” I had about 4 of them standing around. Finally Metro PD shows up. It’s really interesting. First of all, the cop is a BIG P&T fan and that ain’t hurting. Second, I get the vibe that he is WAY sick of these federal leather-sniffers. He has that vibe that real cops have toward renta-cops. This is working WAY to my advantage, so I play it.

The supervisor says to the cop, ‘He’s free to go. We have no problem, you don’t have to be here.” Which shows me that the Feds are afraid of local. This is really cool. She says, “We have no trouble and he doesn’t want to miss his flight.”

I say, “I can take an early morning flight or a private jet. ” The cop says, “If I have a citizen who is saying he was assaulted, you can’t just send me away.”

I tell the cop the story, in a very funny way. The cop, the voice of sanity says, “What’s wrong with you people? You can’t just grab a guy’s crank without his permission.” I tell him that my genitals weren’t grabbed and the cop says, “I don’t care, you can’t do that to people. That’s assault and battery in my book.”

The supervisor says that they’ll take care of the security guy. The cop says, “I’m not leaving until Penn tells me to. Now do you want to fill out all the paper work and show up in court, because I’ll be right there beside you.”

The supervisor says it’s an internal matter, and they’ll take care of it. “If you want to pursue this, we’re going to have to go through the electronic evidence.”

Standing Up to the TSA: Don’t Fly

Almost overnight, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has gone from national joke to national nightmare. Passengers used to laugh when screeners so inept they missed 60-75% of the fake bombs undercover investigators smuggled past them nonetheless proclaimed themselves gods. No one’s laughing now, though, as the TSA ogles us with carcinogenic technology and sexually assaults anyone who objects.

Over 300 of the agency’s “naked” scanners lurk in 60-some airports nationwide, with more on the way; eventually, the agency will irradiate every passenger on every flight. These gizmos peer through clothing to photograph bodies in graphic detail. The TSA makes much of offering a “choice”: if you dislike posing nude for the government, its perverts will grope you instead — “prob[ing],” “prodding” and pushing “up your thighs and between your legs until we meet resistance” (and they don’t mean a slap in the face). You also suffer this indignity, even if you submit to the scan, should it reveal “anomalies” such as piercings or prostheses.

Are you still flying? Why? For your own protection and that of your children, for liberty’s sake, stay on the ground until Congress abolishes the TSA. No destination on earth or convenience in reaching it, no vacation, Thanksgiving dinner, meeting or sales trip, is worth the degradation the TSA is dishing out.

Its new “pat down procedures … allow security officers to touch passengers of the same gender in sensitive areas such as the breasts and genitals…” These attacks have been “likened to ‘foreplay’ pat-downs … [screeners are] using the new front-of-the-hand, slide-down screening technique for … over-the-clothes searches of passengers’ breast and genital areas.”

Such mass mauling is unprecedented. No regime anywhere at any time, however totalitarian or brutal, has ever routinely denuded and molested citizens.

Don’t underestimate the trauma of such aggression nor succumb to the TSA’s bland assurances that a screener “of the same gender” will paw you. We’re talking sexual assault here, not a few moments of discomfort you’ll quickly forget. Feelings of rage and helplessness, depression and worthlessness, can plague victims for months.

Most pilots are veterans of the Air Force; they’re pretty tough cookies who may even have survived combat. Yet one of them “experienced a frisking [from the TSA] that has left him unable to function as a crewmember. Words used to describe the incident include ‘rape’ and ‘sexual molestation,’ and in the aftermath of trying to recover this pilot has literally vomited in his own driveway while contemplating going back to work and facing the possibility of a similar encounter with the TSA.”

It’s one thing for a predator to force your submission at gunpoint; it’s another to voluntarily enter an airport and endure the TSA’s onslaught. Knowing that you could have avoided it entirely but instead cooperated with your assailants and even paid them to violate you will cripple you with despair.

Meanwhile, a former cop points out that the TSA no longer inflicts “pat-downs” but something far worse: “A ‘pat-down’ search by definition is ‘a frisk or external feeling of the outer garments of an individual for weapons only. … anyone who watches cop shows knows what a pat-down search is. The words are part of the American lexicon, and the public’s image of a pat-down search by police is something that isn’t all that bad.” Shame on us that we didn’t consider it “all that bad” for the TSA to defy the Fourth Amendment’s prohibition on “unreasonable,” warrantless searches, though previously with the “backs of their hands.” The cop continues: “… In police work, [the TSA's current method is] called a custody search [and] includes everything short of a cavity search. The TSA needs to be honest about what they’re doing. It’s not nice to lie to the American people.”

Ah, but lying is the TSA’s forte. Despite the hundreds of passengers wailing about molestation, despite the videotapes popping up on the internet to document their stories, despite infuriated pilots’ unions and flight attendants’ lawsuits, the agency blithely denies what millions have witnessed: “there is no fondling, squeezing, groping, or any sort of sexual assault taking place at airports,” asserts its website. “You have a professional workforce carrying out procedures they were trained to perform to keep aviation security safe.” Imagine if they trying to keep aviation security dangerous.

The TSA lies about everything, all the time. But it surpasses even its own astounding record of deception when it comes to naked scanners. For starters, it implies it foisted them on us to counteract the Underwear Bomber. Yet it was already testing them years before Umar Farouk Abdullmutallab oh-so-conveniently emasculated himself. Indeed, as long ago as 2006, the agency was touting porno-scanners as “likely future replacements for the metal detectors now in use.” Nor will these contraptions stay in airports. Cops may already be peering through your curtains and bathrobe with portable versions.

But perhaps the TSA’s biggest whoppers whitewash the hazards to our health from the two technologies with which it strips us. Experts in medicine, biochemistry, and biophysics warn that one, backscatter X-ray, concentrates in the skin rather than diffusing through the body as medical radiation does; therefore, the dose you receive is shockingly high — far higher than the government admits. Dr. Jeff Zervas, a surgeon in Montevideo, Minnesota, told me, “As far as living tissue is concerned, the less exposure to ionizing radiation, the better. Zero is best.” Dr. Zervas also worried about the TSA’s legendary incompetence: “What happens, for example, if some clown leaves the machine on, and a passenger’s standing in the field? And who calibrates these things? I wouldn’t trust a bureaucrat or anyone else without a stake in its safety to do it properly.”

Dr. David Caskey, a cardiologist who was also teaching at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans when we spoke, seconded that: “In the medical industry we try as hard as possible to avoid even the smallest dose of radiation. Here you will be subjected to a rather significant amount. The result can and will be an increase in cataract formation, thyroid cancer, bone marrow suppression, etc.” He was especially concerned for female passengers. “Even low level radiation can adversely affect a woman’s ovaries. There’s the potential for later birth defects. That risk increases if the woman is pregnant in the first trimester when she would likely be unaware of the pregnancy.”

Millimeter waves may be even worse. No one knows their exact effects on human flesh, but one study concludes that they “unzip double-stranded DNA, creating bubbles in the double strand that could significantly interfere with processes such as gene expression and DNA replication. … a new generation of cameras are set to appear that not only record [millimeter] waves but also bombard us with them…”

You might suppose that bureaucrats who constantly prate about protecting us would fret over the consequences of irradiating two million passengers per day, day after day. Nope. Instead, they insist against all evidence that the “technology is safe and meets national health and safety standards. … the radiation doses for the individuals being screened, operators, and bystanders were well below the dose limits specified by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). … Advanced imaging technology screening is safe for all passengers, including children, pregnant women, and individuals with medical implants.”

As you value your life, as you value liberty, don’t fly. We must boycott aviation until the TSA dies. Nor should we settle for a mere suspension of the agency’s ogling and groping. Our goal is nothing less than the TSA’s complete abolition; so long as it survives, it will await its chance — or create one — to molest us again. Another “terrorist” attack, and we’ll fight this same battle.

Indeed, we already did, in 2004: TSA was manhandling passengers then, too, though only women and above the waist. Its excuse? Two airliners had crashed within moments of one another in Russia that August. A Chechan woman had boarded each flight, and though the wreckage was so scattered authorities on the scene could not determine what caused the disasters, the TSA pronounced the ladies rebels who’d obviously hidden bombs in their bosoms. Hence, Americans screeners would molest female passengers.

TSA got away with this for three months before the public’s outrage forced it to desist. But this time must be the last. This time we stay on the ground until Congress disbands the TSA. Let’s evict politicians and bureaucrats from aviation’s security so that experts who understand the industry can design systems as unobtrusive and effective as those securing our homes, email accounts, cars.

But don’t waste your time begging Congress. Why bother after it went deaf to our cries on the bail-out and Obamacare? Hit its corporate cronies instead. Given the incest between the Feds and Big Business, boycotts are probably our most effective tactic. The American colonists tried one just before the Revolution exploded: under their “non-importation agreement,” Patriots refused to buy British goods. Much of the despotism afflicting the colonies was due to mercantilism, to the government’s favoring wealthy and influential merchants at everyone else’s expense. Sound familiar? Just as the British East India Company benefitted from subsidies, the granting of monopolies, and protective laws, so do airlines today. But when the colonists refused to play their role as consumers, the whole rotten mess collapsed.

So don’t fly, or at least don’t buy any more tickets until the airlines and allied industries press Congress to abolish the TSA. Educate your family and friends; infrequent travelers may not know of the TSA’s newest, literal grab for power.

If your job requires travel, talk to your boss about alternatives. Tell him how much productivity the TSA sucks from the American economy, that his interests, too, require this vile agency to disappear. Ask if you can “meet” with clients via teleconferences or iChat.

If you’re already holding tickets for the upcoming holidays, demand a refund and tell the airline why. Advise it you won’t fly again until TSA is dismantled.

If you absolutely must fly — if you’ll lose your job otherwise or the airline refuses you a refund (remember: the point of the boycott is to hurt the airlines’ bottom line, not hand them free money for no services) — prepare yourself mentally. Determine the point beyond which you will not permit the TSA to proceed — “if he touches my thigh, if he seems headed below my waist” — and leave when that seems imminent. Ergo, pack lightly or not at all so you don’t worry about a checked bag continuing to Des Moines while you head home.

Reports conflict about what happens to those who cut short the TSA’s fun. The Ninth District Court of Appeals ruled in 2007 that once your bag hits the conveyor belt at the checkpoint, you may not depart: in effect, you become the TSA’s prisoner. In practice, screeners may permit you to escape without much fuss, or they may “detain” you, threaten, browbeat and intimidate you, call the cops, or “escort” you from the airport.

While grounded, write the CEO’s of airlines, hotels, and tourist attractions that you’ll patronize them only when the TSA vanishes. Cut up your frequent-flyer card and include it in your letter to the airlines; let hotels know how often you once travelled and how you’d love to do so again. Folks already using these tactics have succeeded so wildly that “executives from the travel industry, including online travel sites, theme parks and hotels” demanded a meeting with “Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and [TSA chief John] Pistole [last] Friday to discuss their concerns that security is crimping travel. ‘We have received hundreds of e-mails and phone calls from travellers vowing to stop flying,’ said Geoff Freeman, an executive vice president of the U.S. Travel Association … ”

You can also join groups like wewon’tfly.com and National Opt-Out Day. But these organizations object to the TSA’s current insults rather than the agency itself. That’s not only short-sighted, it betrays a profound ignorance of government’s nature — which the TSA is working overtime to reveal. Stripped of its marble monuments and fluttering flags, the State exposes its utter evil each time a screener torments a toddler or “groin-checks” another citizen.

As the TSA denudes us, government is nakedly on display.

A Department of Homeland Security source has told CNN that the TSA is infuriated with the attention the media has given to the nationwide backlash against naked body scanners and aggressive new airport pat down procedures.

During an appearance on CNN’s Anderson Cooper, TSA chief John Pistole attempted to downplay CNN’s Homeland Security source who told them that the TSA was “angry” with the media’s coverage of the issue and also fuming at the portrayal of the “don’t touch my junk” guy as a “folk hero”.

Pistole also ludicrously claimed that TSA workers were “professionals in terms of how they carry out their business,” despite a deluge of stories about TSA officials abusing, sexually assaulting and humiliating travelers, including a case currently the subject of a lawsuit where TSA goons pulled down a 21-year-old woman’s blouse before laughing and joking about her exposed breasts.

Pistole also parroted Janet Napolitano’s discredited claim that Johns Hopkins University declared the naked radiation scanners to be safe, despite the fact that just three days ago Dr Michael Love, who runs an X-ray lab at the department of biophysics and biophysical chemistry at the Johns Hopkins school of medicine told AFP that “statistically someone is going to get skin cancer from these X-rays”.

As we documented, Big Sis’ USA Today editorial was a tissue of lies from start to finish.

Pistole also lies to Cooper when he claims that people who clear the traditional metal detector are not being subjected to invasive pat downs, in an effort to dismiss the fact that people who refuse the scanner are being punitively punished for their disobedience. As we documented with the case of radio host Owen JJ Stone, who had a TSA agent put his hand inside his pants and touch his backside and genitalia, Stone cleared the metal detector without a problem but was still made to endure a humiliating pat down that amounted to sexual molestation.

Pistole points to the example of underwear bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab as the reason why Americans need to submit to “groin checks” and have their testicles squeezed by goons in uniforms.

However, it was the US State Department that allowed Abdulmutallab to board Delta Flight 253 despite the fact that his father warned the US State Department about him a month before, he was on a terror watchlist and was aided through security by a sharp-dressed Indian man.

Pistole has indicated that the agency will not back down on radiation body scanners or invasive pat downs despite nationwide outrage and a plethora of lawsuits amidst new cases of travelers being sexually molested and humiliated by TSA goons.

“Pistole told the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs that his inspectors at 453 of the nation’s airports are not going to back down in the face of complaints that techniques are invasive,” reports the Washington Post.

Pistole said that agency wanted to “strike a balance between privacy and security needs,” and yet the TSA isn’t interested in striking any kind of balance whatsoever.

Groping 3-year-old children, pregnant women and the physically disabled does not represent the “risk-based” or “professional” approach that Pistole and Napolitano claim they are enforcing.

Amidst the backlash, many are calling for the TSA to be abolished and the current security-theatre to be replaced with something more effective, safer, and more respectful of privacy rights.

As Isaac Yeffet, the former head of security for El Al, told CNN, real terrorists are a giveaway for people professionally trained to spot them. Using human intelligence and rationally-based profiling is a far more successful and Constitutional method of providing airport security. Using minimum-wage low grade morons to feel up toddlers and pregnant women is not.

Pistole, Napolitano and the TSA are praying that the resistance withers away, but it is only growing stronger, especially now that local governments are warning TSA workers that they will be prosecuted for groping travelers and with state lawmakers in different areas of the country moving to terminate use of the body scanners entirely.

District Attorney Pledges To Bring Sexual Battery Charges Against TSA Gropers

The district attorney’s office in San Mateo County, California has promised to follow up any complaints of over the top TSA pat-downs with prosecutions on the charge of sexual battery, reports ABC 7 News.

“The case would be reviewed and if we could prove the elements of it, that it was inappropriately done with a sexual or lewd intent, that person would be prosecuted,” DA Steve Wagstaffe told reporters.

“If it is skin to skin, if someone were to take their hand and put it underneath somebody’s blouse and touch someone inappropriately and go skin to skin, that’s a felony, and if it’s done simply over the clothing, according to California law, that’s a misdemeanor,” Wagstaffe added.

This example should be followed by a lawmakers across the country particularly in wake of the scores of reports of TSA agents literally groping passengers in full public view, and even putting their hands down men’s pants and up women’s skirts.

These cases are far from being isolated incidents, they are now standard procedure.

Highlighting another example of such grossly invasive activity, frequent flier radio host Owen J.J. Stone appeared on the Alex Jones Show yesterday, describing how a TSA agent groped inside his pants:

As we highlighted in our feature article today, the TSA has already been hit with a number of lawsuits as the revolt against Big Sis, naked body scanners, and invasive groping measures explodes.

In one case, a young woman who had her blouse pulled down in full public view by TSA goons was subjected to severe humiliation as the agents proceeded to laugh and joke about her exposed breasts.

As the issue becomes more and more widespread, many more are speaking out against the tyranny now being implemented within airports.

Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson joined the chorus of dissenters recently, appearing on Freedom Watch to denounce the massive ramp up of security measures in airports.

“I think abolishing the TSA is something that absolutely ought to be looked into, and it just seems to me that there are some real entrepreneurial opportunities here to offer a less intrusive and more safe of doing all of this.” Johnson said.

I’m sick of the craven cliches TSA apologists have cited these past nine years:

“They protect us from terrorists.”

No, they impose pointlessly superstitious security theatre, trample Americans’ constitutional rights and make foreigners feel sorry for us. TSA protected nobody with its infamous “bathroom bans” after last year’s Christmas terror attempt; rules like “keep your lap empty and your hands visible at all times” only demonstrated the agency’s willingness to treat ordinary citizens like serial killers in supermax prison.

I never gave up any rights. The government stole them while cowards egged them on.

“TSA agents are just doing their jobs.”

A lousy apologia and historically ignorant to boot; the civilised world established at Nuremberg that “just following orders” cuts no ice. And my fellow Americans are realising “it’ll stop terrorists” cuts none either, at least not to justify low-grade sexual harassment as standard behaviour for government agents.

It’s not hyperbole to call the enhanced patdown a low-grade sexual assault; if you don’t believe me, go find some woman’s boobs or man’s balls, start cupping and squeezing them according to new TSA standards, and count how many offences you’re charged with. Last month, an agent openly admitted that the purpose of the aggressive new patdowns was to intimidate people into choosing the nude scanners instead.

WASHINGTON – Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr. (R-Tenn.) blasted the Transportation Security Administration Wednesday during a speech on the floor of the House of Representatives for invasive “pat-downs” of U.S. citizens and the role lucrative government contracts played in the use of body scanning machines at airport checkpoints.

Duncan, former Chairman of the House Aviation Subcommittee and the current top Republican on the House Subcommittee on Highways and Transit, said: “Unfortunately, for the traveling public, big brother never makes a mistake, so I am not surprised they are trying to defend the purchase of these scanners.”

Mr. Speaker:

A nationwide revolt is developing over the body scanners at the airports, and it should.

Hundreds of thousands of frequent fliers who fly each week are upset about getting these frequent doses of radiation.

Parents are upset about being forced to have their children radiated or being touched inappropriately by an unrelated adult.

There is already plenty of security at the airport, but now we are going to spend up to $300 million to install 1,000 scanners.

This is much more about money than it is about security.

The former Secretary of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, represents Rapiscan, the company which is selling these scanners to his former department.

Far too many federal contracts are sweetheart, insider deals.

Companies hire former high ranking federal officials, and then magically, those companies get hugely profitable federal contracts.

The American people should not have to choose between having full-body radiation or a very embarrassing, intrusive pat-down every time they fly, as if they were criminals.

We need a little more balance and common sense on this.

I have an incident to share that occurred late Friday afternoon, November 12, 2010, around 5:15 in the Dayton International Airport.

I realize the publishing this publically on the internet puts me into a delicate situation, given that I am a high profile blogger and author. This is a difficult incident to share, but it needs to be said…Because I will not be a silent victim.
I will share the facts of the incident in as a matter of fact manner as I can.

I checked into my flight and had a boarding pass printed that included “plus infant.” My baby and I were flying from Dayton, OH, to San Antonio, TX, so I could run in the San Antonio Half Marathon. I was taking my baby along because he is still breastfeeding for part of the day.

I entered the security line, removed the special formula that I had with me for the baby, as well as my quart size baggie with my other liquids. I went through the x-ray machine and metal detector, carrying the baby, with no incident.

Because I was traveling with baby formula, I knew to expect that they would test it with the paper circles for explosives. The TSA agent took all of my belongings over to the table in the center of the explosive screening tables. She asked me, “Are you aware of the NEW policies for carrying liquids through security that were instated 4 years ago?” (capitalized to show the emphasis that she placed on that word.)

I replied, “Yes, I fly with him every several weeks.”

She scanned the formula, then turned to me and said, “Remove your shoes and stand on that black mat for a patdown.”

I said, “OK, what do I do with the baby?”

“You cannot be holding him.” (I am traveling alone.)

So I placed him into his stroller. She instructed me, “Spread your feet apart and hold your arms out to the side.” I obliged.

She patted my left arm, my right arm, my upper back and my lower back. She then said, “I need to reach in and feel along the inside of your waistband.”

She felt along my waistline, moved behind me, then proceeded to feel both of my buttocks. She reached from behind in the middle of my buttocks towards my vagina area.

She did not tell me that she was going to touch my buttocks, or reach forward to my vagina area.

She then moved in front of my and touched the top and underneath portions of both of my breasts.

She did not tell me that she was going to touch my breasts.

She then felt around my waist. She then moved to the bottoms of my legs.

She then felt my inner thighs and my vagina area, touching both of my labia.

She did not tell me that she was going to touch my vagina area or my labia.

She then told me that I could put my shoes on and I asked if I could pick up the baby, she replied Yes.

She then moved back to my belongings to finish scanning them with the paper discs for explosives. When she finished she said I was free to go.

I stood there holding my baby in shock. I did not move for almost a minute.

I stood there, an American citizen, a mom traveling with a baby with special needs formula, sexually assaulted by a government official. I began shaking and felt completely violated, abused and assaulted by the TSA agent. I shook for several hours, and woke up the next day shaking.

Here is why I was sexually assaulted. She never told me the new body search policy. She never told me that she was going to touch my private parts. She never told me when or where she was going to touch me. She did not inform me that a private screening was available. She did not inform me of my rights that were a part of these new enhanced patdown procedures.

When I booked my ticket, I was given no information that the TSA had changed their wand and unintrusive patdown procedures to “enhanced” patdown procedures that involved the touching of all parts of your body, including breasts and vagina on women and testicles and penis on men. I was not informed by any signs on the front side of security about the new procedures. I had not seen any media coverage about the issue, so I had no idea that this was a new government sanctioned policy.

Another important piece in this story, the Dayton airport does not have the new body scanners. I was not given any other search options. It was enhanced patdown, or nothing. (And I would have opted for the body scanner, if I were going to be subject to a sexual assault.)

I asked to speak to a supervisor immediately. I had a very unpleasant conversation with him that lasted 20 minutes. I moved to the back of the security area, made a few phone calls, including to my lawyer. He did some quick research, and learned that I had indeed been sexually assaulted because she did not follow the SOP (standard operating procedure) for the new search.

During our first conversation, the TSA acting manager of the shift told me that the TSA agent who sexually assaulted me was supposed to inform me about the new search procedure and tell me when and where she was going to touch me. He also apologized on behalf of himself and on behalf of the agent who sexually assaulted me. I was not allowed to speak to the agent who sexually assaulted me, nor did the acting manager provide me with her name. (I did not have the presence of mind to look at her nameplate, as I was in shock.)

I also spoke with the Dayton police, the Dayton airport police, and left a message for the TSA manager for the Dayton airport. I intend to request the TSA to arrange for counseling services to be provided to me, so I can deal with the aftermath of the sexual assault that took place, caused by the specific touching actions and failure to inform me of the policies by the TSA agent.

I am speaking out against the TSA and share my sexual assault case to ensure that this does not happen to anyone else, anywhere.

I will not be a silent victim of sexual assault by a TSA agent. Total Sexual Assault.

I am calling for immediate change to this new enhanced body patdown search.

I am calling for the TSA agent who sexually assaulted me to be fired.

I am calling for you, a fellow American, to stand up against these new enhanced full body patdown search procedures of the TSA.

Please note: I do plan on flying back to Ohio on Monday, because it will take me too long to drive home from Texas. I do not however intend to fly again until this search policy of sexual molestation is revoked by the TSA.

I will leave you with this thought: “It is acceptable and encouraged that a TSA government official can do something to an American citizen that US military personnel cannot do to a member of the Taliban.”

Man claims Charlotte TSA employee groped his 6-year-old son

Are children exempt for pat-downs at airport security? Not according to one man who says a TSA employee groped 6 year-old son at Charlotte Douglas International Airport.

The alleged incident is part of the growing backlash over the full body scans and pat downs at airports nationwide.

WBTV found the anonymous submission on a blog, “We Won’t Fly.” The man says the incident happened earlier this month and he describes how his little boy was traumatized saying the TSA agent groped his groin and that the little boy left the checkpoint in tears.

The commenter says his son was aggressively patted down by a TSA employee.

“He was pleading for me to help him and I was admonished for trying to comfort him,” the comment on the blog states. “His genitals area was groped. He walked down to the plane in tears.”

Kick The Bums Out: Airport Says Goodbye To TSA Screeners

The backlash continues over those new TSA screening measures, and now one Central Florida airport has decided to go with a private security screening firm.

Orlando Sanford International Airport has decided to opt out from TSA screening.

“All of our due diligence shows it’s the way to go,” said Larry Dale, the director of the Sanford Airport Authority. “You’re going to get better service at a better price and more accountability and better customer service.”

Dale says he will be sending a letter requesting to opt out from TSA screening, and instead the airport will choose one of the five approved private screening companies to take over.

Ron Paul Unleashes On TSA: “Enough Is Enough”

Congressman introduces legislation to block immunity for federal goons who ‘treat Americans like cattle’

In perhaps his most impassioned and irate speech to date, Congressman Ron Paul unleashed a tirade of vilification at the TSA and their security procedures that have stoked nationwide outrage, stating “enough is enough” as he introduced new legislation to that would open the way for TSA employees to be sued for groping Americans or putting them through dangerous naked body scanners, preventing travelers ‘from being treated like cattle’.

During a speech on the House floor last night, Paul said that the treatment Americans were being subjected to at airports proved that the country as a whole needs to stand up and tell the federal government, “enough is enough”.

“Imagine if the political elites in our country were forced to endure the same conditions at the airport as business travelers, families, senior citizens, and the rest of us. Perhaps this problem could be quickly resolved if every cabinet secretary, every member of Congress, and every department head in the Obama administration were forced to submit to the same degrading screening process as the people who pay their salaries,” roared the Congressman.

“Something has to be done,” Paul implored. “Everybody’s fed up. The people are fed up. The pilots are fed up. I’m fed up.”

Visibly infuriated, Paul said the traveling public were being treated like farmyard animals.

“If this doesn’t change, I see what has happened to the American people is we have accepted the notion that we should be treated like cattle. Make us safe, make us secure, put us in the barbed wire, feed us, fatten us up, and then they’ll eat us. And we are a bunch of cattle and we have to wake up and say we’ve had it…. It’s time for the American people to stand up and shrug off the shackles of our government at TSA at the airport,” he raged, encouraging people to support the national opt out day planned for November 24.

Paul’s legislation, the “American Traveler Dignity Act,” is expertly crafted because it gives the feds no room to maneuver. If he had merely called for an end to certain pat down techniques, the government could have weasled out of it by invoking terror threats or changing semantics. However, once it is established that TSA employees are not immune to assault and harassment lawsuits, they will avoid groping Americans for fear of being sued. Numerous lawsuits of this nature are already in motion.

Paul also addresses the use of naked body scanners, similarly opening the way for the TSA to be directly sued for producing images that are tantamount to pornography, and pedophilia in the case of children.

The bill is brief and gets straight to the point.

A BILL

To ensure that certain Federal employees cannot hide behind immunity.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. NO IMMUNITY FOR CERTAIN AIRPORT SCREENING METHODS.

No law of the United States shall be construed to confer any immunity for a Federal employee or agency or any individual or entity that receives Federal funds, who subjects an individual to any physical contact (including contact with any clothing the individual is wearing), x-rays, or millimeter waves, or aids in the creation of or views a representation of any part of a individual’s body covered by clothing as a condition for such individual to be in an airport or to fly in an aircraft. The preceding sentence shall apply even if the individual or the individual’s parent, guardian, or any other individual gives consent.

Indeed, the district attorney’s office in San Mateo County, California has already promised to pursue charges against TSA employees whose behavior equates to sexual battery.

As we documented in the case of radio host Owen JJ Stone, the TSA is now ordering its workers to stick their hands down people’s pants and touch genitalia. In another case, TSA agents pulled down a 21-year-old woman’s blouse and started laughing and joking about her exposed breasts while other TSA workers expressed their wish to obtain video of the incident, presumably so they could masturbate over the naked woman.

TSA abuse is now so wildly out of control that new cases are emerging on a daily basis. In the latest example, a woman from Ohio had her breasts and vagina aggressively groped by a TSA worker at Dayton International Airport last week. Read about her experience here and watch the video below.

Napolitano, Pistole, and the rest of the feds hoped that they could lie and deceive the American people into backing down on this issue. Now the revolt against the TSA is growing bigger every day and shows no signs of abating. Indeed, some are even speculating that we could be witnessing the embryonic stages of a new rebellion that will lead to a fundamental shift in America’s political landscape, just as the end the fed rallies in 2007 and the town hall fury we witnessed in 2009 led to the creation of the Tea Party and the wider move against big government.

We need to throw all our support behind Ron Paul’s bill and hold lawmakers’ feet to the fire on this issue until the TSA’s power is completely rolled back if not the organization abolished altogether and airport security handed back to professional and credible organizations whose main concern is rational and successful security and not the ritual humiliation and degradation of the American people.

Airport staff ‘exposed woman’s breasts, laughed’

A WOMAN is suing over an incident where airport staff allegedly pulled down her top and joked about her breasts in public view.

The 23-year-old traveller, from Amarillo, US, is suing the US Government for the emotional distressed she says the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents caused.

“As the TSA agent was frisking plaintiff, the agent pulled the plaintiff’s blouse completely down, exposing plaintiffs’ breasts to everyone in the area,” the lawsuit said.

The lawsuit claims that other employees laughed and made jokes about the incident “for an extended period of time”.

The distraught woman left the screening area to be consoled but when she re-entered the boarding area employees allegedly started joking about the matter.

“One male TSA employee expressed to the plaintiff that he wished he would have been there when she came through the first time and that ‘he would just have to watch the video,’” the suit said.
