Hamas: ‘Talks with Zionist regime futile’

Israel-Firster John Kerry is in Israel on a three-day shuttle diplomacy to restart the so-called “peace talks” between the radical Jew Benjamin Netanyahu and the Zionist double agent Mahmoud Abbas, whose mandate as “PA President” expired in January 2009. Under US-Israel advice, Abbas has refused to allow Palestinians to elect new PA leader – fearing Islamic resistance Hamas would capture that post too.

Earlier, John Kerry held three closed-door meetings with Netanyahu. He also met other Israeli leaders in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. He met Mahmoud Abbas in Amman (Jordan) and met him in the West Bank on Sunday for the third time. Kerry, like other western leaders, have been boycotting Palestinian-elected government of Hamas in Gaza, which is not recognized by the Zionist regime.

There is great skepticism that Kerry will be able to convince Netanyahu government to accept Washington’s proposal of an independent Palestinian state over the pre-1967 Israel borders (Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem). Abbas has made several concessions to Israel during the last decade. He has agreed to recognize Jewish occupation of 78% of the historic Palestine, and abandoned refugees’ rights to return to their homes inside Israel from where their ancestors were expelled in 1948.

Netanyahu, on the other hand, has always insisted that PA must recognize Israel as “a Jewish state” and East Jerusalem as part of Israel before any future “peace talks”. Netanyahu has also refused to stop new illegal Jewish settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leaders have rejected such Israeli pre-conditions.

On Saturday, Hamas in a statement rejected any talks with the Zionist regime, saying the move would be waste of time as in the past – as Tel Aviv is not interested in a peaceful solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

“We in Hamas look carefully at US secretary of state John Kerry’s efforts to re-launch the so-called ‘peace process’, which is based upon an American-Zionist agenda which sees settlement devour land and the Judaization of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and holy sites“.

More than 500,000 Israeli foreign Jews live in over 120 illegal settlements built since Israel’s 1967 War of Aggression during which it occupied Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
