“Unfortunately, Zionist elements surreptiously control much of American landscape (government infrastructure and mainstream media) and the American people are deceived, allowing for these horrendous crimes to go unchallenged in the public arena,” said Merlin Miller, an American independent movie director, producer, and writer during a recent interview with Habilian Association.
On July 3, a spokesman for Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki, called Gen. George Casey’s anti-Iran statement during a speech at MEK conference in Paris on June 28, 2013, “toally absurd”.
Casey, is a lobbyist for anti-Tehran terrorist organization, Mujahideen-e-Khalq (MEK). Casey was a commanding officer of the US occupation forces in Iraq from 2004 to 2007. Later, he also served as Chief of Staff of the US Army from 2007 to 2011. In March 2012, dozens of Casey’s friends were investigated by the US Treasury Department for accepting hundreds of thousands dollars from MEK leader Maryam Rajavi to get the group removed from Washington’s “terrorist organizations” list.
During his speech Casey accused Tehran for masterminding the bombing of Imam Hassan Al-Askari Mosque in Samarra in February 2006. The US-installed Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim al-Jafari blamed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi’s al-Qaeda in Iraq. He said the aim of the attack was to create sectarian war between country’s Shia majority and Sunni minority.
Prime minister’s office in a statement denied Casey’s accusations and said: “In a special ceremony in Paris for the MEK that opposes Iranian government, Casey has claimed that al-Maliki had informed him that the leader of Iranian Quds Brigade was behind the bombing in the holy shrine of Imam Hassan al-Sakari and also claimed that he has evidence to prove Iran’s involvement in that bombing. Maliki has denied Casey’s statements and we assure that investigation into this bombing proved that Al-Qaeda terrorist organization was behind the bombing, while Al-Qaeda itself has also issued a statement confirming its role in the bombing“.
San Diego Jewish Mayor Bob Filner also attended the Paris meeting. His trip expenses were fully paid by the National Council of Resistance of Iran, a group tied to MEK. It has hired former Sen. Robert Torricelli (D-N.J.) to lobby on its behalf.
In 2006, both Gen. Casey and Gen. Abizaid exploited growing Sunni animosities towards Al-Qaeda extremists by paying off Sunni militants to join the so-called “Awakening” in Anbar Province.
Iranian-born American journalist and editor Lobe Log Foreign Policy website, Jasmin Ramsey, wrote in Al-Jazeera (August 4, 2011): “MEK fought alongside Saddam Hussein’s regime against its own country during the bloody (8-year) Iraq-Iran war. This one reason why it has almost no Iranian support. It does, however, enjoys the backing of several US heavyweights with high national security credentials“.
Professor Dilshod Achilov (East Tennessee State University) says that the US and Israel’s intelligence agencies are arming, training and funding the MEK terrorism.
“The operatives of MEK and Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (lead by some Kurdish Jews) are seen as invaluable agents for Mossad and CIA because they can work covertly inside Iran and carry out various tactical missions rather discreetly. There is little doubt that MEK is actively involved in sabotaging, either directly or indirectly, the Iranian nuclear program,” he said.
