Italy earthquake made Virgin Mary fresco exposed



'A miracle' as the inhabitants of the place in L'Aquila (Italy) it. They mean to the fresco in the Catholic church in the central Italian town Onna is exposed after the devastating earthquake in early April.

During the repairs to the walls of the church, the frescoes under a layer of plaster was discovered. According to experts, it is a 'unusual' fresco. The Virgin Mary is depicted above the figure of Christ . The fresco covers more than four square meters and comes from the five tenths century.
When the earthquake came it brought forty residents of Onna to life. Throughout the Abruzzi region were nearly three hundred people died and about 1,500 churches were damaged. Experts hope that more miraculous discoveries do happen but not at the expence of lives lost.
