On Tuesday, the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence called a last minute hearing regarding the National Security Agency surveillance scandal. The director of the NSA, General Keith Alexander, went on the record about what information the agency has obtained and explained how the spying program helped thwart terror plots.
