"This Is Why Poor People's Bad Decisions Make Perfect Sense"

I came across this article. I'm posting a snippet with a link in hopes that this can help anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.

There's no way to structure this coherently. They are random observations that might help explain the mental processes. But often, I think that we look at the academic problems of poverty and have no idea of the why. We know the what and the how, and we can see systemic problems, but it's rare to have a poor person actually explain it on their own behalf. So this is me doing that, sort of.

That was the most disgustingly beautifully infuriatingly poetic thing I've seen in a long time. Her updates at the bottom brought tears to my eyes.

I grew up poor. We ate beans with cornbread most dinners of the month. I know exactly what she's talking about. But I can't imagine life there now. Coming to Europe was the best thing that has happened to me.

But you know what? Until we get rid of money, we are not going to live in a fair world. Any of you who say otherwise are simply not seeing what's right in front of you. Money and all money systems will die. It will happen soon, so remove your ego from that system now, so that you don't mentally and emotionally crash when it does. Your worth is not measured in any sort of number whatsoever. Money, least of all.

Good find. she's right , neither of us can figure out the why,we're going through this, or why anyone has to go through this for that matter.

Even though there has to be a reason for it.
