Vitamin D as an anti-flu pill
Sunday, February 22, 2009

There is a pandemic influenza in the Netherlands. U.S. scientists see a relationship with low vitamin D levels. Power are not adequate.
Many people have a chronic vitamin D deficiency, without knowing it. A major cause ninety percent of the time in left with a resulting lack of a daily sun (from 15 to 30 minutes). Other causes are: poor absorption of vitamin D through the intestines, the use of certain drugs or genetic disorder. The most famous result of a lack of vitamin D3 is bone pain or even deformities in the bones, which in extreme cases, painful, can cause spontaneous fractures. Aavulling of vitamin D to ensure longevity for a strong and pain-free beenderstelsel.

Vitamin D prevents flu
According to American doctors and scientists is a chronic shortage of vitamin D also responsible for the fact that certain people more vulnerable to infectious diseases like the flu to get. Doctor Cannelle suggested during a pandemic influenza in 2005 that some people no flu because they were 2000 UI (international units) of vitamin D3 per day position.
Who have adequate vitamin D3 want (adults less than 80 nmol / liter in the blood) or daily should receive enough ultraviolet radiation or food use. In the Netherlands it is impossible in the winter of sufficient sunlight to make vitamin D3. The dietary sources such as oily fish, butter and milk are not sufficient.

Vitamin D pill and interactions
Each natuurwinkel has standardized vitamin D3 supplements in various forms, a dry, emulsion and oil form, without and with calcium combined. Extra calcium is not always necessary, because vitamin D3 if there is sufficient calcium in the daily menu is an optimal intake of calcium and phosphorus in the intestine makes. Additional calcium supplementation may lead to a Hypercalcaemia and cause an imbalance including magnesium. Anticonvulsants, anti-epileptic drugs, isoniazid and orlistat, the vitamin D status adversely affected. Cholesterol lowering drugs (cholestyramine, colestipol) and mineral oil laxantia reduce the intake of vitamin D. Cimetidine reduces the synthesis of vitamin D.

Vitamin D is formed in the skin under the influence of ultraviolet light. The fat soluble vitamin in the kidneys into the active form, calcitriol. Vitamin D is important for calcium and phosphorus metabolism, the botopbouw, the teeth and the immune system. Especially infants, children and pregnant women should have sufficient vitamin D for growth and development. Especially in the winter months many people have a vitamin D levels to the low side. Veiled women are more likely to have a shortage of vitamin D. Older people are less able themselves to make vitamin D, many elderly, especially in institutions, have a vitamin D deficiency.

Comment ndn
Each day take a vitamin D pill is more effective than a weekly or monthly vitamin D supplementation at higher doses. This was from a Dutch study among 338 residents of nursing Marie Have in Warmond with an average age of 84 years.
They were divided into three random groups. Group 1 was given for 4 months daily 600 IU vitamin D, 4,200 IU weekly group 2 and group 3 monthly 18,000 IU.
At the start of the study period, the average concentration of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25 (OH) D) 25.0 nmol / l. From the measurements of concentrations of 25 (OH) D in the blood at the end of the study period showed that a daily dose of vitamin D was the most effective in raising vitamin D blood level. The average concentrations of 25 (OH) D in the groups were in the blood increased from 69.9 (group 1), 67.2 (group 2) and 53.1 nmol / l (group 3). You can change your vit D3 levels in the blood via the GP measured.

Rich in calcium nuts, sunflower seeds, legumes (beans), green vegetables, soybeans, soy products and dairy products. Any calcium supplementation (in the citraatvorm) allows insufficient calcium intake in the diet are needed. Combined with magnesiumcitraat and other botversterkende minerals such as zinc (also important for flu), manganese and boron.

Supplementation with vitamin D in addition to calcium supplementation reduced the relative risk to fall by 9%, especially in the winter. It was a study in elderly women who live in a sunny climate, yet a lack of vitamin D. 302 elderly women with ages 70 to 90 years had a 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations in blood below 60 nmol / l. She lived in retirement home in Perth in Australia and were in the past year or more cases. The women were followed for one year in two groups. Both groups received 250 mg calcium (as citrate) per day. One of the groups was also daily with 1000 IU vitamin D gesuppleerd. The other group received a placabo. After one year showed the risk at least once a year to fall in the vitamin D group significantly reduced compared with the control group: 53% versus 63%.
Literally at the feet with the flu is a sun in the house out with a vitamin D pill.

Re: Vitamin D as an anti-flu pill

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is naturally present in very few foods, added to others, and available as a dietary supplement.

The flesh of fish (such as salmon, tuna, and mackerel) and fish liver oils are among the best sources..Vegetarians may not get enough of the D vitamins since they don’t eat meat, and may want to take a multi-vitamin supplement. Here is an alternative source of liquid nutrient which I tried for the day and got the results.

My wife and kids and i eat a tonne of sea food from local fisherman but the most natural way to get vitamin D is just soaking up some rays but not to much and a good diet always helps.just had yellow fin tuna(raw) sushi cones last night, it was awesome.......ricklbert
