Dr. Ahmadinejad has slammed Washington for threatening the Islamic Republic for calling for an independent truth-finding commission to probe the September 11, 2001 events.

In a recent interview Iran’s Presiden Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gave to Associated Press, said: “I can say with certainity there must have been explosives material that was set off in sequence”.

“We thought that the president of the United States would make up for the mistakes of the previous administration and perhaps this would have been a good starting point.”

Dr.Ahmadinejad said. “The current president could have said the information was incomplete or perhaps needed more investigation vis-a-vis the events of Sept. 11.”

In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September, 2010, President Ahmadinejad called for the formation of an independent commission to probe into the 2001 attacks in New York and near Washington, which killed 2846 people.

His proposition, however, led to threats and offensive remarks on the part of the US President Barack Obama describing President Ahmadinejad’s suggestion as ‘hateful’ and ‘inexcusable.’
