Forget the inspirational quotes. Tell your friend you love them. Ask them if you can do anything for them? Hug them. And above all listen.

Just tell her you're sorry and if she needs anything that you'll be there. Maybe send her a just because card to cheer her up

be yourself -true to your heartthank him- for everythng for you have a friend and you care about him & his grandfatherremember your friend is here thanks to the grandfatherJust pray & be thankful

Beyond the sunset, Oh, blissful morningWhen with our Savior, heaven is begunEarth's toiling ended, Oh, glorious dawningBeyond the sunset, when day is done.Beyond the sunset, no clouds will gatherNo storms will threaten, no fears annoyOh, day of gladness, Oh, day unendingBeyond the sunset, eternal joy.Beyond the sunset, Oh, glad reunionWith our dear loved ones who've gone beforeIn that fair Homeland, we'll know no partingBeyond the sunset forever more.Try these words, they be comforting for all.

Just be there for him/her. Be a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, a hand to hold, be a comforting face. When my grandma died I had nobody who could be there with me and comfort me, of course there was family, but sometimes you need something more than family, a connection on a different level that only a good friend could provide. You dont have to get too spiritual, but if your friend is religious, go for it.

When my dad had died, there wasn't anything that anyone could say, that made it feel right. The best thing for me, that could have been done, was someones hand to hold onto mine.. and someone just to be with me.. Which my friend Heidi had done. She tired so hard to say something inspirational.. and I turned on her. Just having her there, meant so much.. and being able to glance at her, and see her eyes actually look into mine..and understand.. <smiles>It's so hard losing someone.. but as someone above said, they'll always be in your heart.. and if you talk about them, and carry the memories, they're never truly gone.God bless..

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" She said to him, "Yes, Lord, I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one coming into the world." John 11:25-27

Psalm 23 The LORD is my shepherd; there is nothing I lack. In green pastures you let me graze; you restore my strength. You guide me along the right path for the sake of your name. 4 Even when I walk through a dark valley, I fear no harm for you are at my side; your rod and staff give me courage. 5 You set a table before me as my enemies watch; You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Only goodness and love will pursue me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of the LORD for years to come.

Hello friend,Great is a friend who cares enough to comfort another.Your question is pregnant with many other unasked questions. Is the frandfather a child of God, is your friend God's child, are you?I believe your heart is in the right place. I don't mention the other questions to trouble you, they are meant to help direct the answer. Please read and consider Isaiah 41:10.Also with Bible in hand, please tenderly show that verse as well as Psalms 116:15 to your friend and possibly grandfather. There are so many others. Mostly just be there as an open ear and soft shoulder.God bless you in your efforts,2 Tim 2:7
